Fresh from tours of India and a run in New York, Filter Theatre's 90-minute take on the Bard's joyous comedy TWELFTH NIGHT is a feast for the eyes and ears. This riotous and energetic interpretation was originally commissioned by Michael Boyd, Artistic Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company and will run Wed 11 - Sat 14 May 2016 at HOME in Manchester.

Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's 2016 season begins with Samuel Adamson's adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's novel, RUNNING WILD. A co-production withChichester Festival Theatre, RUNNING WILD previews from Friday 13 May (press night 19 May) and plays until Sunday 12 June. Theatre Royal Plymouth Artistic Director Simon Stokes today announces that The War Has Not Yet Started, Mikhail Durnenkov's funny, eye-opening and surreal dark comedy about everyday people fighting everyday wars, opens in The Drum next month. 

Sarah Stribley Productions and Anna Haigh Productions in association with Alchemist Theatricals present the European premiere of LAST OF THE BOYS by Steven Dietz. Directed by John Haidar, the production will run  11 May - Saturday 4 June 2016 with a press night on  Friday, 13 May 2016 at 8pm.

Complicite Associates today announce further dates for the world premiere of a new musical A Pacifist's Guide to the War on Cancer with book by Bryony Kimmings and Brian Lobel, music by Tom Parkinson and lyrics by Bryony Kimmings. Presented as a co-production with the National Theatre and in association with HOME Manchester, the production opens at HOME from 20 to 24 September 2016, and then tours to Exeter Northcott from 28 September - 2 October, before completing its run at the National Theatre from 14 October to 29 November.

New York City, NY — Celebrating its 15th season, the Ensemble for the Romantic Century (ERC) returns to BAM Fisher for six performances of Anna Akhmatova: The Heart is Not Made of Stone. Written by Eve Wolf and directed by Donald T. Sanders, this multi-media production examines the troubled relationship between artistic creation and totalitarianism through the perspective of the Russian poet Anna Akhmatova (1889-1966). This tale of passion, love, political repression, and redemption is interwoven with music by Russian composers' Rachmaninoff, Prokofiev, and Shostakovich.

Easter Monday - a group of Irish nationalists stage a rebellion against the ruling British government in Ireland in an attempt to establish an Irish Republic. Some 1,600 rebels seize prominent buildings in Dublin and clash with British troops on the streets of the capital. Within a week, the insurrection is suppressed and more than 2,000 people are dead or injured. The leaders of the rebellion are executed. A few years later an Irish Free State is established. Yet, over the following century the events of that week and their immediate aftermath have cast a long shadow over Ireland and continue to shape Anglo-Irish relations today.

Josette Simon joins the previously announced Mel Giedroyc to lead the cast of the UK premiere of JC Lee's play LUCE, which will run at London's Southwark Playhouse from tonight 9 March to 2 April 2016, with a Press Night on Friday 11 March 2016.

Southwark Playhouse today announces the full cast for the UK premiere of JC Lee's LUCE, which runs March 9 to April 2. Joining Mel Geidroyc are Natasha Gordon, Martins Imhangbe, Elizabeth Tan and Nigel Whitmey. Natasha Gordon replaces Josette Simon who has had to withdraw from the production for personal reasons. Simon Dormandy, whose recent productions include his own stage adaptation of iconic film The Hudsucker Proxy, will direct, and his Hudsucker collaborator Dick Bird designs.

The Maids, Trafalgar Studios Jamie Lloyd has enlisted a cracking trio of actresses to take on this contemporary adaptation of Jean Genet's psychological thriller. Uzo Aduba (Orange Is the New Black), Zawe Ashton (Fresh Meat) and Laura Carmichael (Dowton Abbey) join forces to explore sex, murder and class.
