Keith Allen will make his West End stage debut starring as 'Long John Silver' in Ken Ludwig's new stage adaptation of 'TREASURE ISLAND' by Robert Louis Stevenson at the Theatre Royal Haymarket. The play will open on Monday 17 November, following previews from 7 November. Also in the cast are Michael Legge as 'Jim Hawkins', Tony Bell as 'Bones/Captain Smollett', Paul Brennen as 'Ben Gunn/Black Dog', John Lightbody as 'Blind Pew/Trelawney', Dermot Kerrigan as 'Flint/Dr Livesy', James Atherton, Mark Bagnall, Matt Costain, Estella Daniels, Branwell Donaghey, Howard Gossington, James Lailey, Mark Theodore and Sharlene Whyte.
On January 30, 2009, Complicite will present the European premiere of its latest devised work, 'Shun-kin.' Inspired by two texts by Jun'ichiro Tanizaki, 'A Portrait of Shunkin' and 'In Praise of Shadows,' this sensual devised production explores the many shades of darkness and light in human relationships. The Critics' Circle Theatre Awards 2007 were hosted today by its Chairman Charles Spencer, theatre critic of The Daily Telegraph, at the Prince of Wales Theatre, London. Top winners included the new production of 'Hairspray,' Patrick Stewart and Rupert Goold of 'Macbeth,' plus new play 'A Disappearing Number,' and actors Charles Dance, Anne-Marie Duff, Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The Public Theater will continue its fall season with the world premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's new play The Brothers Size, directed by Tea Alagic, and produced in association with The Foundry Theatre who brought The Brothers Size to The Public's 2007 Under the Radar Festival earlier this year where it was the breakout hit of the festival.
