On June 17, between 11am and 1.00pm, London's newest theatre is hosting an open morning for residents and community groups in the area. The Playground Theatre, which is set to become the only theatre in North Kensington, will open its doors to offer a sneak preview of what will be on offer when the first production is staged there this autumn. Miss Sharda Harrison is a local theatre performer and arts educator in Singapore. She graduated with a B.A (Hons) in Acting from Lasalle College of the Arts in 2009. Since then she has performed in a spectrum of theatre shows in Singapore as well as internationally. Sharda founded Pink Gajah Theatre in 2013. She uses Pink Gajah as a platform to showcase arts focused on social and environmental activism. In addition, she also runs an education wing which focuses on bringing movement, drama and balance to children, teenagers and adults. Miss Harrison's latest work, Temuan, a one woman piece starring herself, recently premiered at the prestigious Perth Fringe Festival in January 2017.

Gaurav Kripalani will be appointed the new Festival Director designate of the Singapore International Festival of Arts (SIFA) with effect from 1 May 2017. This will be for a tenure of three festivals from 2018 till 2020. The appointment was announced by the Arts House Limited (AHL), a company of the National Arts Council (NAC) which commissions the annual SIFA. Gaurav will take the helm from outgoing Festival Director Ong Keng Sen, who will see through the 2017 edition which begins in June.
Today's subject Colin Hovde is living his theatre life in two very different ways. He is currently in his fifth season as the Producing Artistic Director of Theater Alliance which performs at the Anacostia Playhouse. Their current production Mnemonic runs through April 9th. The show is directed by Hovde.
