Off-Broadway's Vineyard Theatre -- where the hit comedy musical Avenue Q got its start -- is expanding its presence in London this summer and fall, according to an article by WhatsOnStage.

Charlie Hofheimer, also known as Abe Drexler on AMC's 'Mad Men' joins the cast of HERO Theatre's 'Classic Film Project'. Hofheimer will star in 'Non Mi Scordo...with a Shmear' written by Danny Hoch. Ric Salinas of 'Culture Clash' will also star in the event in 'Treason or Reason' written by Larry Charles. The 'Classic Film Project' consists of scenes inspired by classic films.

The Public Theater announced the September line-up today for NEW WORK NOW!, the free reading series that allows audiences an opportunity to experience new work by a diverse selection of established and emerging theater artists. NEW WORK NOW! will run September 9 to September 21 in The Public's Martinson Theater (425 Lafayette Street). Now in its twentieth season, NEW WORK NOW! is an important part of The Public Theater's ongoing commitment to developing and mentoring new voices for the American Theater.

On September 7, 2013 for two benefit performances, HERO Theatre presents "The Classic Film Project." "The Classic Film Project" consists of scenes inspired by classic films. They will be presented live and written by Quiara Alegria Hudes (Pulitzer winning "Water By the Spoonful" and "In the Heights"), film/TV director and writer Larry Charles (Borat, Bruno, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Colman Domingo (Public Theater's "Wild With Happy"), Susan Blackburn Award-Winner Jennifer Haley, Luis Alfaro, Ricardo A. Bracho, Juri Henley-Cohn, Francesco DeSantis, Tamar Halpern, Danny Hoch, Carmen Rivera, Ethan Sandler, Candido Tirado and Annie Weisman. Directors include Michael-John Garces, Yetta Gottesman, Diane Rodriguez and Tina Sanchez. The scenes will be performed by members of HERO Theatre's acting ensemble alongside special guest artists.

TheatreWorks, the nationally acclaimed theatre of Silicon Valley, presents the hilarious new play WILD WITH HAPPY written by and starring award-winning playwright Colman Domingo. The production plays previews tonight, June 5 to Friday, June 7, 2013, with a press opening on Saturday, June 8, 2013. WILD WITH HAPPY will close on Sunday, June 30, 2013.

According to The Stage, original Broadway cast members Colman Domingo and Forrest McClendon will reprise their roles of Mr Bones and Mr Tambo respectively, in The Scottsboro Boys at the Young Vic this Fall. The production is set to run October 18 through November 23.

The 2013 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway were handed last night to recipients in 14 categories and 4 special honors were bestowed. The Lortel Awards were distributed in a ceremony at NYU Skirball Center hosted by acclaimed stage and screen actors Aasif Mandvi and Maura Tierney. The Public Theater presents the world premiere musical Here Lies Love, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Working Theater, the 28-year-old Off-Broadway company, in collaboration with Magnum Foundation, an organization dedicated to preserving the Magnum Photos legacy and supporting photography around social justice issues, have joined forces to present Ed Cardona, Jr.'s LA RUTA, a world premiere immigration-themed play that will be staged inside the trailer and cab of an actual 48' truck. An accompanying photographic installation about the immigrant experience will also be presented.
