In addition to her ASCAP Foundation work, she will continue as SVP of Membership reporting to ASCAP Executive Vice President and Chief Creative Officer John Titta. 

The ASCAP Foundation announced today that “Songwriters: Next Generation,” a signature program of the Foundation, will showcase the work of emerging ASCAP songwriters and composers in a new virtual format.

The virtual performance is made possible by contributions from ASCAP Foundation donors and by the Bart Howard Estate. Bart Howard (1915 – 2014) was an ASCAP member and the writer of the enduring standard, “Fly Me to the Moon.”

High school musical theater students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, D.C. will perform their original songs alongside a slate of Broadway stars on Friday, March 19 at 7 PM. The concert is the culmination of the second annual ASCAP Foundation Andrew A. Isen Musical Theater Songwriting Workshop.

The ASCAP Foundation today announces that it has named Tania León and Betsy Pérez to its Board of Directors.

High school theater students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts in Washington, DC will perform their original songs on The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts Millennium Stage on October 11. The concert, which is free and open to the public, will be the culmination of a groundbreaking new ASCAP Foundation songwriting workshop for high school students. 

This past fall, Tony/Oscar/Grammy award-winning writers Benj Pasek and Justin Paul helped forty-five students from a Bed Stuy public middle school in Brooklyn, NY learn about musical theatre through their renowned Broadway show, Dear Evan Hansen, through ASCAP's Children Will Listen program. 'My students and I cannot thank The ASCAP Foundation enough for our experience seeing Dear Evan Hansen… Not only did the students learn to have empathy for one another through this story, but they saw themselves within the characters on stage, which provided the perfect gateway theatre experience… If not for this organization, many of these children may never have set foot in a Broadway theatre,' said Jennifer DeRosa, drama teacher, M.S. 57 in Bed Stuy, Brooklyn, NY.  

Last night, December 14, The ASCAP Foundation honored jazz legend Dee Dee Bridgewater with The ASCAP Foundation Champion Award, and acclaimed Broadway composers/lyricists/librettists David Hein and Irene Sankoff with the Richard Rodgers New Horizons Award. The accolades were presented at The 2017 ASCAP Foundation Honors at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Frederick P. Rose Hall in New York City. BroadwayWorld has photos from the event below!

The 2016 ASCAP FOUNDATION HONORS were given out last night at Jazz at Lincoln Center's Appel Room last night and BroadwayWorld was there.

The ASCAP Foundation Awards Ceremony was held at The Appel Room at Jazz at Lincoln Center and Broadwayworld was there. This years recipient of the Masters Award was composer John Corigliano. Mr. Corigliano has also won fiver Grammy's a Pulitzer Prize the Grawemeyer Award and an Academy Award for his many scores and compositions. Rupert Holmes, Composer, Playwright, lyricist, mystery novelist, arranger-conductor, screenwriter, record producer and singer-songwriter received the Foundations George M. Cohan Award which is made possible by the Friars Foundation.

Sari Reis, CPPS, owner of Mission Valley Pet Sitting Services in San Diego, Calif., has been named Pet Sitters International's 2013 Pet Sitter of the Year. This award is presented annually to one pet sitter who embodies the passion and professionalism of the pet-sitting industry.

Pet Sitters International (PSI) has selected its top-five finalists for the 2013 Pet Sitter of the Year Award. First awarded by PSI in 1995, the Pet Sitter of the Year designation is the industry's highest honor and recognizes true excellence for the professional pet-sitting profession.

The ASCAP Foundation just honored Tony Award-winning lyricist and director of Annie Martin Charnin with the first-ever ASCAP Foundation George M. Cohan Award at their 18th annual Awards Ceremony last night, December 11th. The invitation-only event, hosted by ASCAP Foundation President Paul Williams, was held at the Allen Room, Frederick P. Rose Hall, Home of Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City.
