Wordplay! World Premiere of WHERE WORDS ONCE WERE Headed to Kennedy Center

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts presents Where Words Once Were, a wordplay-filled world premiere commission from playwright Finegan Kruckemeyer, directed by Colin Hovde. The production, most appropriate for patrons age nine and up, is part of the Kennedy Center's Theater for Young Audiences 2016-2017 season, and will run November 5 through November 27, 2016.

Adventure Theatre MTC Sets 2016-17 Season

2016 National Festival of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival Begins Next Week

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts hosts more than 150 outstanding theater students from colleges and universities across the nation as part of the 48th annual Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival (KCACTF), which runs April 12-16, 2016 in multiple locations throughout the Center. Thousands of student artists from eight regions across the country presented their work at regional festivals from January 5 through February 27, 2016 and more than 150 were selected to travel to the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., for an all-expenses-paid trip to participate in the national festival.

The Hub to Present IN A WORD

Fresh off its rolling World Premiere, the mind bending IN A WORDbrings playwright Lauren Yee back to The Hub. Three time Helen Hayes nominee Kerri Rambowleads the cast as Fiona, a mother wrestling with the loss of her son Tristan, kidnapped years earlier. Rambow is no stranger to Yee's work having earned rave reviews playing the Hatmaker's Wife in Hub's production of THE HATMAKER'S WIFE (formally A MAN, HIS WIFE, AND HIS HAT).

A Broadway Christmas Carol, created by Kathy Feininger, returns to MetroStage for the holidays through Dec. 28 for a fifth season . It has been the holiday show for the past four seasons and has become a holiday tradition here at MetroStage. Prior to 2009, it had played to sold out houses at Round House Theatre in Silver Spring, Maryland, for seven consecutive years ending in 2004.

This gritty, powerful drama tells the story of a veteran returning from war, and the ongoing battle of her and her family to overcome economic challenges, emotional conflict, and the spectre of war that haunts them. Spark also opens a deeper dialogue about a society's responsibility to address its veteran's physical, emotional, and mental needs and break the cycle of abandonment in families.

Adventure Theatre MTC to Stage STUART LITTLE, 9/19-10/26

Adventure Theatre MTC commences its 2014-2015 63rd Season with Stuart Little, Sept. 19 - Oct. 26, 2014. The play is based on the award-winning book by E.B. White, published in 1945. For more than a half-century, the shy and thoughtful mouse has been a beloved literary figure for generations of young readers.
