Blue Mountain Gallery presents Live Streaming, an exhibition of recent works by Anne Diggory that were inspired by the Adirondacks of upstate New York. In the painted and hybrid works she continues her interest in a merger of the fleeting moment with the supposedly more permanent natural forms of mountains and shore. In that interplay, the land forms take on the liveliness of the clouds and waters. Shifting interpretations of the same locations inform multiple works on the same day, on return visits, or in re-imaginings back in the studio.
Bad haircuts can be tragic, but none more so than for Samson, the Biblical figure whose strength was sapped the moment his mullet was gone. The treacherous shearing by a revenge-seeking Delilah launched centuries of retelling, including Camille Saint-Saëns' opera 'Samson and Delilah' which the Washington National Opera is currently presenting at the Kennedy Center in repertoire with 'Don Giovanni.'

Opera in the Park is an event the city of Perth looks forward to every year, and 2020's performance of Hansel and Gretel was no exception. All eyes were on the skies in the lead-up to the night, and though the clouds looked threatening, they only provided a bit of additional atmosphere in the end. Also providing atmosphere was the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, with its open windows showing silhouetted figures going about their business, which served as a new (likely unintended) backdrop for this year's performance.
Today, critically acclaimed Swedish singer, songwriter and producer Skott reveals the music video for 'Kodak & Codeine,' her own unique twist on a breakup. The single, which features Skott's trademark earworm melodies, laced through sweeping cinematic production, is out now via Dollar Menu in partnership with Cosmos Music. The song was praised by Idolator who called it an 'acerbic gem,' and DuJour Magazine hailing it as 'captivating' and an 'anthem for heartbreak.' The video, which premiered earlier today on Refinery 29 features Skott bathed in striking blue and purple hues in front of a series of moody, atmospheric backdrops-storm clouds, raging ocean waves, a menacing castle. Watch the Peter St. James-directed video for 'Kodak & Codeine' HERE.

Today, Nada Surf has released a new video for 'So Much Love' from their new LP, NEVER NOT TOGETHER (out now via Barsuk). The video was directed by Michael Arthur, and it's now available to stream or embed HERE. 'Since we had only a few days to make the video for 'So Much Love,' we tried to keep it simple, focussing on the band, alone in the dark and gradually expanding the vision to a cosmic sense of love and hope,' Arthur said. 'We went in not really knowing what we were doing, but staying open to the idea of this expansive love and the collaborative spirit of all involved.'
