Fei-Fei Comes to The Center For The Arts

Chinese pianist Fei-Fei comes to Pepperdine University's Raitt Recital Hall at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Lisa Smith Wengler Center for the Arts as the first Recital Series performer of the 2018-2019 season.

Craft Recordings To Release 'Stax '68: A Memphis Story', Milestone Anniversary Box Set Out 10/19

When it comes to soul, Stax Records owned the '60s. Classic records from Otis Redding, Sam & Dave, Rufus & Carla Thomas, and a legion of others helped transform what was once known as rhythm 'n' blues into rugged, emotionally bare 'soul' music. This made Stax one of the decade's most influential labels of any genre. It all crescendoed in 1968, a tempest-tossed year when the label redefined its own sound and, in the process, channeled a larger historical zeitgeist.

Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra's 2018-19 Season At Severance Hall Announced

The Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra (COYO) and its Music Director Vinay Parameswaran today announced details of the 2018-19 season. The Youth Orchestra, under Mr. Parameswaran's direction, will perform a three-concert series at Severance Hall on November 16, 2018; March 3, 2019 (with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus); and May 10, 2019. Subscription packages are on sale now, with individual tickets available starting on September 4, 2018.

2019 Adelaide Fringe Will Transform the Riverbank into a Gathering of Light

Yabarra: Gathering of Light will illuminate the Torrens riverbank reeds, surrounding grasslands and paths to share stories from a time long ago, bringing to life native animals and Aboriginal storytelling through mesmerising interactive installations of projection, sound and light.

Susan Hill's THE WOMAN IN BLACK To Kick Off Season At Cleveland Play House

Cleveland Play House (CPH) kicks off its 2018-2019 Season with the spine tingling tale of Susan Hill's The Woman in Black.  Hill's gothic ghost story, adapted for the stage by Stephen Mallatratt, will star Bradley Armacost as Arthur Kipps and Adam Wesley Brown as the Actor in the show that Daily Mail called, "A nerve-shredding experience."  Director Robin Herford will recreate his original staging from the London West End.  The American premiere of the West End Production is produced by PW Productions and Pemberley Productions.  Previews begin on September 15th, with press opening on September 21st at the Allen Theatre in Playhouse Square. 

REDCAT Premieres KAMP By Holland's Hotel Modern

Porchlight Music Theatre welcomed a sold out crowd at the 13th Annual Chicago Sings concert fundraiser; Chicago Sings The MGM Musicals, held Monday, Aug. 20 at 7 p.m., at Second City's UP Comedy Club, 230 W. North Ave, direction by Keely Vasquez, music direction by Porchlight Artistic Associate Beckie Menzie, stage management by Jake Allen Miller and sound design Robert Hornbostel. Monday's event was the company's most successful Chicago Sings to date. Sales from this one-night-only performance benefit Porchlight Music Theatre's youth educational and community outreach programming raising more than $54,000.

Panic! At The Disco To Perform At T-Mobile Arena Today

The release of the new album will be celebrated by a U.S. arena tour, produced by AEG Presents, that will kick off on July 11 in Minneapolis, MN, and will visit major markets throughout the summer before concluding in the band's hometown of Las Vegas today, Aug. 18 at T-Mobile Arena. A R I Z O N A and Hayley Kiyoko are support for the 28-city tour.

Seattle-based artist Lost Chocolate Lab has announced the forthcoming release of a new 'Lost Landscapes' album by previewing two tracks - 'Squall' and 'Contents / Weightless'. From soft blankets of distortion to hazy clouds of noise, these tracks are a long-lost love letter to the first wave of shoegaze six-string pioneers, where guitars caterwaul in-collision with cascading waves of reverberation and acrobatic effects-pedal atmospherics.

Edo Style: Art Of Japan Exhibition Opens At The David Roche Foundation

The David Roche Foundation will open a major new exhibition Edo Style: Art of Japan (1615-1868) which will showcase more than 150 exquisite works of art, drawn predominantly from the renowned Japanese art collection at the Art Gallery of South Australia, with additional items from The David Roche Collection and private collections.
