Rehearsals and filming have been completed for MNM Theatre Company's upcoming production of Closer Than Ever, David Shire and Richard Maltby Jr.'s fascinating song cycle that explores the everyday struggles of love in the modern world.  The production will begin streaming on November 27th and be available through December 31st.

Closer Than Ever, the award winning show by lyricist Richard Malty, Jr. and composer David Shire, has been creatively filmed for streaming by a group of theatre professionals at the MNM Theatre Company.  

MNM Theatre Company, like almost every theatre company around the world, has been drastically affected by COVID-19. All scheduled productions have either been cancelled or postponed indefinitely, with no re-start date in sight.

However, the company's Producing Artistic Director and CEO Marcie Gorman and Director Jonathan Van Dyke have come up with an innovative way to provide audiences with theatre, and the company's first production Maltby and Shire's Closer Than Ever will debut on November 27th and be available for On Demand streaming through December 31st.

Mad Cat finishes up its 18th season with it's a new iteration of the popular MIXTAPE short form performance series, entitled: NOSTALGIA Part 1: Be Kind, Rewind. This mixed media production aims to darkly satirize white male nostalgia and the American tendency to yearn for a past that may not have been as great as those who pine for it remember. NOSTALGIA Part 1 will feature short form performances that implement live music, puppetry, and film all hosted by "Mr. Ringo" a hypermodern twist on a Mister Rogers-esque character

When an inspector mysteriously arrives at the home of the affluent Birling family, their intimate dinner party takes a turn for the worst. Inspector Goole brutally questions each family member regarding the death of a young woman, but each denies knowing her. Will the inspector get to the bottom of the mystery or will secrets remain?

Billy and Me , a new play by Terry Teachout , author of the acclaimed Satchmo at the Waldorf , will receive its world premiere on December 8 at Palm Beach Dramaworks. 'A work of fiction freely based on fact,' the play speculates on the tempestuous friendship between playwrights Tennessee Williams and William Inge . PBD Producing Artistic Director William Hayes , who suggested the idea to Teachout, directs the premiere, which runs through December 31, with specially priced previews on December 6 and 7.

Arts organizations throughout the country are on a constant quest to attract newer, younger, and more diverse audiences while maintaining their longtime, loyal supporters. Palm Beach Dramaworks is no exception. For a while now, PBD has been running a Pay Your Age initiative on select Sunday evenings for anyone 40 and under. The response has been so strong that, beginning with the run of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd (July 14 - August 6), and continuing throughout the 2017 - 2018 season, Pay Your Age tickets will be available for all performances. Several additional outreach ventures are under consideration for the upcoming season as well.

Palm Beach Dramaworks is pleased to announce that educator, director, and actor Bruce Linser has joined the staff as Manager of The Dramaworkshop, the company's lab for developing new plays.
