The New York Philharmonic will present the third season of THE ART OF THE SCORE: Film Week at the Philharmonic September 18-21, 2015, featuring two complete Academy Award-winning films screened with live performances of their acclaimed scores: On the Waterfront and The Godfather.

Seattle Public Theater (SPT) is proud to present Lanford Wilson's Pulitzer Prize-winning romantic comedy Talley's Folly, directed by SPT Artistic Director Shana Bestock, running at SPT from tonight, May 15 to May 31, 2015. Talley's Folly is the final production of SPT's 2014-15 mainstage season of plays. 

Chester Theatre Company will have a new Producing Artistic Director starting in September of 2015. After almost two decades, incumbent Artistic Director Byam Stevens will step down to pursue other projects. Daniel Elihu Kramer, who has served as CTC's Associate Artistic Director since 2012, will take on the artistic leadership for CTC's 2016 season, the company's 27th year of producing professional summer theatre in Western Massachusetts.

Tonight, May 8, The Sherman Playhouse will premiere Lanford Wilson's touching romantic comedy, TALLEY'S FOLLY. The curtain rises at 8:00 p.m. for a two-week run.

A young woman's spirit soars with newfound awareness in Tennessee Williams' quiet drama Summer and Smoke, where the freedom of youth collides with the expectations of society. Directed by Terry Schreiber, Summer and Smoke will be performed at the T. Schreiber Theatre, located at 151 West 26th Street, on the 7th Floor from tonight, May 6 - June 6. Member of the press are invited as of Saturday, May 9th.

Aurora Artistic Director Tom Ross (A Bright New Boise, This Is How It Goes, Edward Albee's A Delicate Balance, The Shape of Things) helms FIFTH OF JULY, featuring Craig Marker (The Shape of Things, The Persians), Elizabeth Benedict, John Girot, Jennifer Le Blanc, Oceana Ortiz, Harold Pierce, Josh Schell, and Nanci Zoppi. BroadwayWorld has just learned that Rita Wilson has temporarily stepped out of Broadway's FISH IN THE DARK for a temporary medical leave. In her absence, the role of 'Brenda' is being played by Glenne Headly. Wilson is set to return to the production on May 5, 2015.

The Independent Eye presents an inspired two-person take on William Shakespeare's KING LEAR. Played out within the confines of an aluminum cage, King Lear and The Fool are accompanied by nearly 30 life-sized, hand, and finger puppets operated by actors and master puppeteers Conrad Bishop and Elizabeth Fuller.
