The Appalachian love story of May and Raleigh continues as Rubicon Theatre Company presents SEE ROCK CITY by Arlene Hutton, running January 27 through February 14, 2016, in Ventura's Downtown Cultural District.

The Ford's Theatre 2015-2016 season continues with 'The Glass Menagerie' by Tennessee Williams, January 22 to February 21, 2016. One of the greatest American plays of the 20th century and Tennessee Williams's breakout drama, 'The Glass Menagerie' explores the visceral bonds of family. The production features stage and film actress Madeleine Potter as Amanda, with Tom Story as Tom, Jenna Sokolowski as Laura, and Thomas Keegan as the Gentleman Caller.

THE PURPLE ROSE OF CHELSEA, a book celebrating 25 years of Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company (PRTC), will be released Tuesday, December 15 with a pre-sale date of Wednesday, November 30 (with delivery before Dec. 25).

In what has become an annual ritual, a total of 36 established and emerging composers, lyricists, and librettists will converge on the Goodspeed campus from mid-January through mid-February 2016 to participate in the Johnny Mercer Foundation Writers Colony at Goodspeed Musicals. The writing teams, representing 19 new musicals, will populate the campus, creating a truly exciting environment for discovery and inspiration.  Minnesota Jewish Theatre Company (MJTC) will feature The Chanukah Guest, an original MJTC commission, as its holiday show this year. The Chanukah Guest returns from its sold out run from last year to play December 6 - 22, 2015 at MJTC's theater home at the Highland Park Community Center (1978 Ford Parkway, St. Paul, MN 55116). Mystery and murder is the entertainment choice this Halloween season! However, this time it's complete with Nazi saboteurs, secret passageways, flickering lights... and, well, the blizzard of the century. That is indeed the case as Austin's City Theatre's continues its 10th anniversary season shooting squarely at the funny bone with John Bishop's comedy thriller The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940. The show runs four weekends October 23 - November 15.

Purple Rose 25 Years, a documentary commemorating the 25th anniversary of Jeff Daniels' Purple Rose Theatre Company, will premiere on Detroit Public Television at 7:30 pm Monday, October 26. It will be rebroadcast in other PBS markets throughout 2016.

Winner for the award in Overall Excellence in Playwriting at FringeNYC 2015, award-winning playwright Jim Shankman's The Screenwriter Dies Of His Own Free Will gets an extended run at the Davenport Theatre in NYC.

Gloucester Stage is pleased to announce that Robert Walsh has been named Artistic Director of the 36-year old non-profit professional theatre, effective immediately. Walsh's appointment as Artistic Director continues a 20-year relationship with Gloucester Stage as both an actor and director as well as serving as Interim Artistic Director since December, 2014. During Gloucester Stage's 2015 season Walsh directed Enda Walsh's The New Electric Ballroom and currently appears in the New England premiere of Israel Horovitz's Gloucester Blue, which has extended it run through October 11.

On Monday, September 21, 2015 The Innovative Theatre Foundation, the organization who for the past 11 years has been dedicated to celebrating Off-Off-Broadway, announced the 2015 recipients at its annual event. Celebrating eleven years and thousands of nominees, the New York Innovative Theatre awards took place at Mason Hall at Baruch Performing Arts Center.

The New York Philharmonic will present the third season of THE ART OF THE SCORE: Film Week at the Philharmonic September 18-21, 2015, featuring two complete Academy Award-winning films screened with live performances of their acclaimed scores: On the Waterfront and The Godfather.

After having worked together for over 7 years, Stuart Thompson and David Turner are forming a new general management company, Thompson Turner Productions, which will have King Charles III as its first Broadway credit and will continue to be a general management company for Broadway and touring shows.  Thompson will continue to produce under the umbrella of Stuart Thompson Productions.
