McCarter Theatre Center has launched its 2013 Sallie B. Goodman Artists' Retreat, which is being held in Princeton through June 19. The ten participating artists are George Brant, Jade King Carroll, Samuel D. Hunter, Ken Ludwig, Emily Mann, Lynn Nottage, Nicole Ari Parker, Heather Raffo, David "Tom" Thompson, and Kathleen Tolan.

Trinity Repertory Company concludes their 12-13 season with two Open Captioned (OC) performances of their latest shows House and Garden by Alan Ayckbourn. The OC performance of Garden will be held Sunday, June 16 at 2pm in the Dowling Theater followed by the OC performance of House on Sunday, June 30 at 2pm, Chace Theater. This state-of-the-art technology allows Trinity Rep to continue in its mission of providing theater access to a wider community by making performances accessible to patrons with hearing loss. Cuban National Office of Scenic Arts, The University of Alabama and Company HavanaBama invite you to the World Premiere of ALCESTIS ASCENDING, a new play with music based on Euripides' classic drama. Written and directed by Seth Panitch, this groundbreaking collaboration combines actors and dancers from the Cuban National Office of Scenic Arts (several of whom are TV stars in Cuba) as well as actors from the University of Alabama. Performances of this Off-Broadway limited engagement run July 9 - 21 at the Harold Clurman Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd).
Producers Joey Parnes and Larry Hirschhorn have announced that Christopher Durang's new comedy, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike, which last night won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Play, will again extend its premiere Broadway engagement at the Golden Theatre. With this second and final extension, Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will now end its run Sunday, August 25 (it was originally scheduled to end its run on Sunday, June 30). The critically lauded play has swept the awards circuit this year, having now been named Best Play by every major theatrical awards organization including the aforementioned Tony Awards, the New York Drama Critics' Circle, the Drama Desk, the Drama League, and the Outer Critics Circle. Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike began performances on Tuesday, March 5 and opened on Thursday, March 14.

After eighteen seasons as McCarter's Producing Director, Mara Isaacs will be stepping down from her position this June. Isaacs, who has enjoyed a varied career as an educator and freelance producer while maintaining her position as Producing Director, will end her successful tenure with the Princeton-based McCarter Theatre at the conclusion of the 2012-2013 season. She will remain affiliated with McCarter as a consultant for the coming season.
Tony Award-winning Trinity Repertory Company, under the leadership of The Richard L. Bready Artistic Director Curt Columbus and Executive Director Michael Gennaro is thrilled to announce that they have been named the State Theater of Rhode Island. The bill, introduced by House Speaker Gordon Fox (D), and Senator Maryellen Goodwin (D) officially passed Tuesday, June 4, 2013. Columbus, Gennaro, members of the acting company and board of directors accepted the honor on the floor of the Statehouse.
