 A world of jazz just minutes from home, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) hosts the 11th Annual Sarah Vaughan International Jazz Vocal Competition this Sunday, November 20, 2022. Pulled from over 200 submissions from over 25 countries, a handful of gifted young contestants from around the world representing the next generation of great jazz singers will compete on the NJPAC stage. 

The New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) has announced the exciting line-up of the highly anticipated TD James Moody Jazz Festival. This year's program offers events combining jazz luminaries in collaboration with artists known for R&B, poetry, hip hop, and so much more. 

From November 1 through 13, Birdland Jazz Club will present a variety of programming including Django Reinhardt NY Festival, Nicole Zuraitis, Alexis Cole, Peter Cincotti and The Purchase Latin Jazz Orchestra Directed by David DeJesus. 

It was a historic night of enlightenment, emotion, and of course, inspired Jazz performances at the inaugural Jazz Music Awards: Celebrating The Spirit of Jazz, held on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, Georgia.

Birdland Jazz Club and Birdland Theater are open this November with a full slate of nightly performances!

he Soraya's Jazz at Naz festival returns for a second year with  five nights of the best of Jazz performances kicking off on February 2 with Christian McBride's  “The Movement Revisited,” celebrating heroes of the Civil Rights movement during Black History Month. Four more February performances follow—two in The Soraya's Great Hall, with its pristine acoustics, and two nights of performances in the intimate onstage Jazz Club. 

George Benson, Billy Eckstine and Phyllis Hyman, are but a few of the extraordinary singers that had roots in Pittsburgh and enriched the vocal jazz tradition. The vocalists who will sing at the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF), which runs from September 16-18, will expand and extend on the legacy of their Steel City forebears.

So it's only fitting that the Pittsburgh International Jazz Festival (PIJF) presents Ron Carter Foursight, Buster Williams & Something More, and Stanley Clarke N 4Ever – three lords of the lower frequencies.

The Soraya kicks off its 2022-23 season with the celebrated sounds of four Jazz legends—tenor saxophonist and composer Joshua Redman, pianist Brad Mehldau, bassist Christian McBride, and drummer Brian Blade— all trailblazers of the Jazz genre.
