Andrew Gerle may be one of the most talented and promising composers/writers for the theatre today that you've never heard of. He launches the new year with an incredible lineup of projects on the horizon: a musical, a play, a new book, a star-studded revue, a concert reading at City Opera featuring an 80-piece orchestra, a recital performance of his work at London's Wigmore Hall, and the first-ever published volume of his songs.

Jim Caruso presents songwriter Andrew Gerle and his talented friends in 'Say We Flew - The Songs of Andrew Gerle'. The concert will take place on Monday, January 31 at 7pm as part of the Broadway at Birdland series, which showcases performers and writers from the Great White Way. Singing Andrew's songs will be Karen Ziemba, Carrie Manolakos, Mark Linn-Baker, Christa Justus, Richard Maltby, Jr., Pamela Bob, Cassie Wooley & Victoria Huston-Elem.

Yesterday, December 12, New York Stage and Film presented their Annual Winter Gala. Top theatrical talent paid tribute to honorees Laura Linney (Academy Award-nominated and Emmy Award-winning actress) and Jordan Roth (President of Jujamcyn Theaters) at The Plaza Hotel including Steven Pasquale, Rebecca Naomi Jones and John Gallagher, Jr., and cast members from Spring Awakening, Hair and American Idiot. John Benjamin Hickey and Michael Mayer served as presenters. BroadwayWorld was on hand and brings you photo coverage below.

PS Classics has released Christa Justus's debut album, 'Throw It to the Wind: The Songs of Maltby and Shire.' The album, which features songs by Richard Maltby Junior and David Shire, will be available beginning on June 8, 2010. In addition to Justus, the album features musical direction by arranger and composer Andrew Gerle and accompaniment by New York jazz musicians. Maltby and Shire themselves are also featured on the album.
