Stage Left Theatre announces the recipients of the Downstage Left Playwright Residencies for Season 34. Times Squares, a New York based square dancing club for lesbians, gays and their friends, is celebrating it 30th anniversary this October with a four day celebration expected to attract several hundred people.

GEORGIA ON MY MIND: Celebrating the Music of Ray Charles was welcomed by The Venetian Las Vegas with a star-studded event coinciding with the birthday of Ray Charles. The groundbreaking new show features a host of esteemed stars including Emmy award-winner Clint Holmes, 10-time GRAMMY award-winning vocal group TAKE 6, six-time GRAMMY nominee and DownBeat artist of the year Nnenna Freelon, and Stella Gospel Award and GRAMMY award-winning saxophone star Kirk Whalum. The show also features the Las Vegas Mass Choir, under the direction of James R. THE AUSTRALIAN BEE GEES SHOW celebrated its 1,000th performance in Las Vegas on Thursday, March 20 with a pre-show event to celebrate the production's accomplishments, including new songs, arrangements, video projections and costumes. 'Rock of Ages' star Mark Shunock's March edition of 'Mondays Dark' took place on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 8:30 p.m. at Body English Nightclub inside Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. Following the success of last month's tribute to the rock band QUEEN, 100 percent of the ticket proceeds from this week's show benefits the Shine Family Foundation and featured the music of 'The '80s - Unplugged.' Special guests included, the 'Rock of Ages' band Arsenal, Chris Phillips and Lydia Ansel of Zowie Bowie, James Mulligan, Tina Dawn from 'Absinthe,' Elise Furr from 'Jubilee,' illusionist Mark Bennick, Anne Martinez and Savannah Smith of BBR, Geechy Guy from 'America's Got Talent,' and Becca Kotte and Jason Oles from 'Rock Of Ages.' Other red carpet Vegas headliners in attendance included hypnotist Anthony Cools and celebrity magician, Murray Sawchuck, both of whom have performed at previous Mondays Dark events. Mark Shunock, who plays Lonny the narrator in the hit musical 'Rock Of Ages,' along with various Strip entertainers wowed audiences and raised thousands of dollars during the fourth edition of 'Mondays Dark' on Monday, February 17th. This monthly charity event held at Vinyl, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino's intimate music venue will donate100 percent of the ticket proceeds from the Monday's show, which featured the music of Queen, to The Saint Therese Center HIV Outreach.
