ELOISE creator Hilary Knight caught up with Evelyn Rudie who created the role of ELOISE in 1956 on television's 'Playhouse 90.' It brought her critical acclaim and an Emmy nomination at age six-the first time a child actress was so honored. The Off-Broadway premiere of Jerry Mayer's new comedy, 2 Across, is currently playing an open-ended engagement at St. Luke's Theatre (308 West 46th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues). The production officially opens tonight, December 9, with Emmy Award nominee Evelyn Rudie ('Eloise') directing a cast that stars Andrea McArdle and Kip Gilman.

Twenty-nine years after it premiered, playwright Jerry Mayer's hit comedy ALMOST PERFECT has returned to the Santa Monica Playhouse playing weekends through September 27 as part of the Playhouse's three-year Jerry Mayer-a-thon, reuniting Mayer with director Chris DeCarlo. Mayer is based in Pacific Palisades and has premiered many of his plays at the venue, but this one is his first play and meant a lot to him personally - a piece that explores marriage with honesty and humor.

"The Hebrew Hillbilly", written by and performed by singer-songwriter Shelley Fisher in a one-woman cabaret style concert at a 2 PM matinee performance today, July 7th at Arthur Newman Theatre in The Joslyn Center Theater in Palm Desert. The show chronicles Ms. Fisher's Hollywood odyssey that begins in the heart of the Mississippi Delta in her hometown of Memphis, Tennessee. Shelley grew up surrounded by Rockin' Roll, Blues, and Bar B Que with a flamboyant but very Jewish mother who frowned on her dating the local redneck boys. But that never stopped her dreams from an early age of being a Hollywood star and she has been singing since before she could walk.
