Culture is a space where we can introduce ideas, attack emotions, change values, and find inspiration. In 2011 Architect and Art Africa Miami Founder Neil Hall, AIA purposefully established the inaugural Art Africa Miami to showcase engaging and thought-provoking art that served as a continuum of the Black, Caribbean, social, political, hip-hop artistic strand that spoke to the Black presence missing from the Art Basel script.

I would never drink on the job, but at ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE, a?oepour me something tall and stronga?? is part of the mandate a?" and the show writers are clearly counting on tequila to carry them through. Margaritaville is an island getaway where the drinks are strong, Jimmy Buffett is god, and every single inhabitant has exactly one personality trait. It's definitely the cheeseburger version of paradise...

'Fins up!' The National Tour of Jimmy Buffet's ESCAPE TO MARGARITAVILLE docks at The National Theatre in Washington DC. If you're looking for a decently fun, nicely crafted, Buffet filled escape, paired with a mix of performances, then you've found the right show.

Today's subject Chris Clark is currently living his theatre life in a big way. He is making his national tour debut in the Jimmy Buffet extravaganza Escape to Margaritaville. The tour plays here in DC through October 13th at the National Theatre.

Ignore the New York reviews. 'Escape to Margaritaville,' the Jimmy Buffett musical which opened its national tour at the Providence Performing Arts Center this week, is two hours of wry, high-energy fun. The music, of course, is a delight, but the book is also full of clever moments and the cast -- of mostly newcomers -- sparkle.

In tribute to a a?oebeloved friend, husband, father, director and lip-sync enthusiast,a?? Hale Center Theater Orem is producing XANADU as a benefit.

a?oeA special benefit performance for our beloved friend, husband, father, director, and lip-sync enthusiast, Chris Clark. Chris has been thriving with ALS for over 3 years. And even though we all warmed up from the Ice Bucket Challenge years ago, ALS remains a terminal disease, and still has no known treatment. There are very smart doctors worldwide who are working on a cure, but for anyone living with ALS, the focus is on treating symptoms, and adapting lifestyles. Which is EXPENSIVE! And that is why we have decided to re-remount one of Chris' favorite shows that he directed: XANADU! Only this time we are raising money to support people in the Utah community who have been diagnosed with ALS. There are SO MANY things that are needed for anyone with this disease. ALS can start anywhere in your body, legs, neck, etc., and as it progresses ALS REQUIRES that you adapt like acquire a cane, and then a walker, and then a wheelchair, and then a shower seat, and then, and then, and then...the list goes on and on. And for those who have no family or friends to help them through, or money, things are even harder, so by the fires of Hephaestus we are gonna help!a??
