Greater Boston Stage Announces CALENDAR GIRLS

Calendar Girls is a delightful, heartfelt comedy based on the true story of eleven English Ladies Club members who posed nude for a calendar to raise money for the Leukemia Research Fund. Made famous by the hit 2003 movie, this is a play about friendship, determination and hope; about loss in many forms; about the importance of acceptance; and about knowing when to let go. Directed by Nancy E. Carroll, Calendar Girls boasts a star- studded cast. Performances run May 31 - June 17, 2018.

PBS Honors Louisa May Alcott with 'The Woman Behind 'Little Women' Encore

A special encore broadcast of American Masters -- Louisa May Alcott: The Woman Behind 'Little Women' airs nationwide Sunday, May 20 at 10 p.m. on PBS (check local listings) and will be available to stream the following day on pbs.org/americanmasters and PBS apps. This special encore broadcast coincides with the premiere of Little Women on Masterpiece (Sunday, May 13 and 20 at 8 p.m. on PBS) as well as The Great American Read (Tuesday, May 22 at 8 p.m. on PBS), a new eight-part television and online series that explores America's 100 most-loved novels, including Little Women by author Louisa May Alcott.

Legendary Rap Artists SALT-N-PEPA Will Perform at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards

dick clark productions and NBC announced today that the legendary female rap trio Salt-N-Pepa will shoop onto the stage to perform several of their monster hits at the "2018 Billboard Music Awards!" Joining them for this one-of-a-kind special performance will be the highly celebrated female vocal group En Vogue. Salt-N-Pepa's "2018 Billboard Music Awards" performance marks the 30thanniversary of them becoming the first female rappers to crack the Top 20 on Billboard Hot 100. The renowned group burst onto the hip-hop scene in 1987 with their debut Billboard chart hit 'My Mike Sounds Nice,' and then notched their first crossover pop smash with 'Push It' the following year. 

Plan-B to Receive $10,000 Art Works Grant from the National Endowment for the Arts

National Endowment for the Arts Chairman Jane Chu has approved more than $80 million in grants as part of the NEA's second major funding announcement for fiscal year 2018. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $10,000 to Plan-B Theatre Company for the world premiere of ZOMBIE THOUGHTS by Jennifer A. Kokai & her 11-year-old son Oliver Kokai-Means.

Carly Rae Jepsen, RZA, I'm With Her, Raphael Saadiq, Bobby Sanabria, & More to Play Lincoln Center Out of Doors 2018

Lincoln Center today announced its annual Out of Doors season of free music and dance, invigorating Damrosch Park and the Lincoln Center campus from July 24 to August 12. One of the country's longest-running free outdoor festivals, now in its 48th edition, Out of Doors intertwines diverse social and cultural dialogues with multi-genre music programming, family events, dance, and spoken word by artists from New York City, across the United States, and beyond in this year's lineup.

MTV Announces Categories & Nominees for the 2018 MTV Movie & TV Awards

MTV today announced the categories and nominees for the 2018 'MTV Movie & TV Awards,' hosted by Tiffany Haddish, that celebrate the actors, stories and moments that drove pop culture in the last year. The show will once again feature non-gendered categories - a change that marked an industry-first historic shift. Airing on Monday, June 18 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT from the Barker Hangar in Los Angeles, additional categories and honors will be announced at a later date. BWW Review: JPAS Takes Flight with CATCH ME IF YOU CAN

Nearly 10 years after the movie, some geniuses decided to turn the show into a Broadway musical starring Aaron Tveit and Norbert Leo Butz. Honestly, what more do we need in life? While the show didn't have a long run on Broadway, it is now being played in regional theatres, and the New Orleans area was lucky enough to have the opportunity to experience the fun at Jefferson Performing Arts Society (JPAS).
