White Lion Studios, LLC and Off Beat Cinema Announce the National Television Debut of ATTACH OF THE KILLER SHREWS!

White Lion Studios, LLC and Off Beat Cinema (a two-hour hosted movie show that airs on television stations throughout the United States originating from WKBW-TV in Buffalo, New York) announce 'Attack of the Killer Shrews!', a film by Ken Cosentino, will make its National Television debutSaturday, May 26, 2018 at 10p.m. on RetroTV stations nationwide and just a couple of hours later at midnight on WBBZ-TV, Western NY's local affiliate of MeTV. Attack of the Killer Shrews, the wildly entertaining splatstick remake of the 1959 cult classic 'Killer Shrews' is coming to a living room near you. Starring Bill Kennedy as Sheriff Martin Blake, Liz Houlihan as B-movie Scream Queen Fiona Rae, and Jonathan Rogers as high brow professor & author Charles Perry, this deliberately awful display of puppetry follows a group of misfits as they defend the world against an invasion of monstrous killer shrews. 'We are grateful for the opportunity to expand the Shrewniverse while hopefully gaining new friends and fans to bring them along with us on this wacky roller coaster ride,' says White Lion Studios President Bill Kennedy. Complete with horrible shrew puppets and a special cameo by Lloyd Kaufman of Troma Entertainment, Attack of the Killer Shrews combines Mel Brooks style humor with a classic drive-in creature feature. 'Ken Cosentino is a brilliant director,' says Kaufman who first met Ken on Troma's Return to Return to Class of Nuke 'Em High Volume 1 & Volume 2. 'Troma has a history of finding young, talented filmmakers, including Trey Parker and James Gunn, and I believe Ken Cosentino will have his place among them,' says Kaufman. Other cast members include: Marcus Ganci-Rotella (Lewis) who is Professor Perry's slimy literary agent, Cheryl Szymczak (Cassandra) Lewis' better half, Mick O'Keefe (Murdock) the crazy scientist responsible for the madness, Baird Hageman (Wayne) Sheriff Blake's deputy and 'his cousin', Bill Brown (Wilkens) the disgruntled Scotsman who is enduring Round 2 with the Shrews, and James Ventry (Captain Jack Frost) leader of the military sent to end this outbreak.

BWW Review: SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS Packed With Superb Performances

SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS is a new play from Drama Desk Award-winner Bess Wohl that looks at how we address life's biggest questions when you can't use words. Under the watchful eye of their unseen guru, six people (who are about as different from each other as one can get) have gathered for a week-long retreat in the woods. What makes this retreat unusual is the fact that it is a silent retreat. In the process of listening to their spiritual leader, they discover that silence is not only golden, but also more than a little passive-aggressive. As they confront their inner demons, they find their vows of silence colliding with the basic human need to connect. Rules have been laid out (including no cellphone use except in cars with the windows rolled up, no candles or incense, no food in the rooms), but over the course of the retreat, every rule gets broken. In the quiet of the woods, they attempt to abandon technology and observe their vow of silence. There are some remarkable moments of tenderness in this play, but SMALL MOUTH SOUNDS is also a wickedly satiric look at this comodified inner peace industry where nirvana is just a guru, mantra or self-help book away.
