The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2016-2017 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 18, to patrons and industry artists.

There are only 5 performances of this brand new musical event: October 11, 12, 13 at 8:00pm and October 14 at 8:00pm and 11:30pm. All performances will take place at The Lyric Studio Theatre in the Square located at 12 Powder Springs Street, Marietta GA 30067.

Actor's Express will present its gala Broadway at Atlanta Contemporary on Saturday, May 20 from 7-10 PM. This year Nik Walker from the Broadway cast of the Tony Award- winning musical Hamilton will headline the event.

Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre company, will finish up its 24thseason with Million Dollar Quartet, the smash-hit Tony Award-winning musical inspired by the famed recording session that brought together rock 'n' roll icons Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins for the first and only time. Based on a true event, the production runs April 6th through 23rd, 2017 at the theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. This inspirational story runs February 16th through March 5th, 2017 at the theatre's home in the Roswell Cultural Arts Center. Andrea Frye, acclaimed director and actor, will direct the production that is also part of the 2017 Roswell Roots Festival. Having Our Say is graciously sponsored by The Kimberly-Clark Corporation.

January 10, 2017 - Founder and Executive Artistic Director Benjamin Davis is thrilled to announce that submissions are open and rolling in for the Second Annual Atlanta Musical Theatre Festival (AMTF), to be held in August in Atlanta. Performances will be open to the artistic community, the public, and the press. Submissions are being accepted now for work to be presented at the festival (details below). The deadline to submit is February 14, 2017. Selections will be announced April 1, 2017. Tickets to the Festival will go on sale in spring 2017.

The Suzi Bass Awards revealed nominations for the 2015-2016 Atlanta professional theatre season on Monday evening, September 12, to patrons and industry artists. The Suzi Nomination Party was generously hosted by the Alliance Theatre, at 6:30pm in The Circle Room, on the third floor, 1280 Peachtree Street, Atlanta, Georgia, 30309. 

Citadel Theatre is presenting A Christmas Story: The Musical as the second installment of its 14th Season. Directed by Robert D Estrin this musical is based on the story by Jean Shepherd with book byJoseph Robinette, and words and music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. The show runs November 18 - December 18, 2016 at Citadel's West Campus Theatre at 300 S Waukegan Road, Lake Forest. The Press Opening is Opening Night, Friday November 18, at 8pm.

Performances have limited run dates for three weeks only from September 15th  through October 2nd,  2016, Wednesdays through Sundays.  GET's Co-founder and Artistic Director Robert Farley will direct the production. Sponsor for this blockbuster show is longtime GET corporate partner, Macy's.

Ghost the Musical had its Southeastern premiere on September 15th at the Georgia Ensemble Theatre (GET), North Fulton's only professional theatre. The musical is based on the hit 1990 romantic-thriller of the same title, starring the late Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg. The musical features a book and lyrics by Ghost screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin, and music and lyrics by Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard.
