Haven Theatre presents its fourth DIRECTORS HAVEN, the company's ever-growing initiative annually showcasing the talents of three rising directors. This season, Charlotte Drover directs Madame Rachilde's surreal horror ballet THE CRYSTAL SPIDER, with translation by Daniel Gerould; Airos Sung-En Medill helms Josefina Lopez' heartfelt and healing SIMPLY MARIA, OR THE AMERICAN DREAM; and Dani Wieder directs an imaginative take on William Inge's drama PEOPLE IN THE WIND. The three productions, which will have the support of a full production team, will run back-to-back in one program. DIRECTOR'S HAVEN 2018 will play October 15 - 31, 2018 at Haven Theatre's resident home, The Den Theatre (2A), 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Haven Theatre is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, kicking off this fall with its fourth consecutive DIRECTOR'S HAVEN, three short plays showcasing the talents of early career directors. Helming this year's productions are Charlotte Drover, Anna Sung-En Medill and Dani Wieder.

March has officially been Women's History Month in the U.S. since 1987. In 2018, Pride Films and Plays will celebrate its own 'Women-Loving-Women's History Month' with HISTORY LEZONS, a showcase of nine short plays about women of previous eras - some historical, some fictional, some a combination of both.

Erasing the Distance is proud to announce SPARKfest 2017. The inaugural festival includes three world premieres; Walk A Mile, Breathe With Me, and The Lies We Tell. The performances address mental health issues like addiction, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, and conditions related to aging.

Jackalope's 9th season kicks off with the U.S. premiere of Octagon, written by Kristiana Rae Colon, directed by Tara Branham, with the full cast and production team announced below.

On the heels of their company launch this spring, women-focused Chicago theatre company The Jades announces their inaugural production ofAn Almanac for Farmers and Lovers in Mexico by Kate Tarker, running October 21st-November 13th at The Frontier (1106 W. Thorndale Ave). Emmi Hilger directs. The script was a finalist on the 2015 Kilroys List of the best un- and under-produced American plays by female and trans* writers.

Victory Gardens Theater has announced the 2016/17 Season Directors Inclusion Initiative Assistant Directors include Kaiser Ahmed (Hand To God), Arianna Soloway (Roz and Ray), Ameenah Kaplan (A Wonder In My Soul), Charlotte Drover (Queen), and Alyssa Vera Ramos (Native Gardens).

Commedia Beauregard is pleased to present MASTER WORKS: The Intuit Plays, six new short plays inspired by pieces of artwork from the permanent collection of one of Chicago's most fascinating museums, Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Curated by company member kClare Kemock*, the six plays will be performed April 2 - 11, 2015 at the museum itself, allowing the audience members to view the works of art firsthand. Guests will also have an opportunity to vote for 'Audience Favorite' and 'Best Translation.' The press opening is Today, April 2 at 7:30 pm.
