Cast Announced for In-Production Horror Film ADAM K

With fans of AXEMAN AT CUTTER'S CREEK, and the filmmaker himself, eagerly anticipating the film's theatrical and home video release, Joston Theney and his 'Axeman Alum' are hard at work on their next blood-soaked flick, ADAM K. The film stars 'Axeman' veterans Dylan Hobbs, Arielle Brachfeld, Brinke Stevens, Jessica Cameron (from the upcoming Axeman sequel), Carlos Javier Castillo and Nihilist Gelo, along with new faces Kristin Wheatley, Sarah Nicklin, Jose Rosete, Sachiko Ishada, John Charles Smith and many more!

Theater for a New Generation Presents FREEFALL at the Drilling Company, Now thru 9/28

Theater for a New Generation will present 'Freefall' by the highly celebrated Chicago playwright Charles Smith, directed by Mel Williams, at The Drilling Company Theatre, 238 West 78th Street, tonight, September 11 to 28. The play is a drama of two brothers who grew up in inner-city Chicago and have followed divergent paths into adulthood: one as a thief, the other as a policeman.

David Mamet's NOVEMBER to Open Planet Ant's 2013-14, Begin. 9/6

Planet Ant is set to open its 2013-14 season Friday, September 6 with David Mamet's November. This new Oval Office satire depicts one day in the life of a beleaguered American commander-in-chief. It's November in a Presidential election year, and incumbent Charles Smith's chances for reelection are looking grim. Approval ratings are down, his money's running out, and nuclear war may be imminent. November is a scathingly hilarious take on the state of America today and the lengths to which people will go to win. Featuring Seth Amadei* (Dearborn), Dave Davies (Warren), Andy Huff* (Northville), Dan Jaroslaw (Mt. Clemens) and Vanessa Sawson (Ferndale), November is directed by Kelly Komlen (Dearborn) with assistance from Michael Hovitch (Ferndale), stage managed by Ryan Fisher (Albion). A comedy from David Mamet - and it's hysterical! His war chest empty, unpopular President Charles Smith is about to lose the election in a landslide. Jonathan Abarbanel Named New Chair of the American Theatre Critics Association

The American Theatre Critic's Association announces the election of veteran Chicago theater critic Jonathan Abarbanel as Chair of the American Theatre Critics Association, at the conclusion of the Association's 40th annual conference on July 20, 2013, held this year in Shepherdstown, WV. He will serve a one-year term as Chair of the Association's nine-member executive committee and may be re-elected for up to two more years.

Victory Gardens Hosts 2013 Chicago One-Minute Play Festival Today

Victory Gardens and the One-Minute Play Festival (OMPF) present the Third Annual Chicago One-Minute Play Festival, an evening of micro-plays by sixty of Chicago's top playwrights, directed by ten Chicago directors. OMPF benefits the Miller Match campaign and will be presented for two performances only, today, June 17 and Tuesday, June 18 at 7:30 p.m. at the Victory Gardens Biograph Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park.
