Commedia Beauregard is pleased to present MASTER WORKS: The Intuit Plays, six new short plays inspired by pieces of artwork from the permanent collection of one of Chicago's most fascinating museums, Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago. Curated by company member kClare Kemock*, the six plays will be performed April 2 - 11, 2015 at the museum itself, allowing the audience members to view the works of art firsthand. Guests will also have an opportunity to vote for 'Audience Favorite' and 'Best Translation.' The press opening is Thursday, April 2 at 7:30 pm. Artistic Director Chay Yew and Managing Director Chris Mannelli announce a change to the 2014-2015 season: The World Premiere of An Issue of Blood by Marcus Gardley, directed by Chay Yew, will replace the previously announced World Premiere of A Wonder In My Soul. An Issue of Blood was penned by Gardley in response to recent events and social injustices. An Issue of Blood runs April 3 - May 3, 2015 with the press performance on Friday, April 10, 2015, at Victory Gardens Theater, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue.

The South Dakota Symphony Orchestra (SDSO) and Chorus will host their annual Holiday Collage concerts this weekend, ushering in the holidays to the Sioux Falls community. Every year the SDSO brings together a variety of musicians, a volunteer chorus, and guest artists to perform an array of holiday music. Recently, filmmaker and master puppeteer, Roberto Ferreira, co-founder of the Puppet School of San Francisco, L.A., and New York, (www.PuppetSchool.com) came to TheatreWorks New Milford to prep the cast on the finer points of puppeteering for the premiere of the Theatre's upcoming hit musical comedy, AVENUE Q. With Book by Jeff Whitty and Music & Lyrics by Robert Lopez and Jeff Marx, this puppet-filled production won the coveted 2004 Tony 'Triple Crown' for Best Musical, Best Score, and Best Book.
Victory Gardens Theater hosts Small Fish Radio Theatre and Thespinarium for a one-night-only performance of the radio adaptation of Mercury Considers the Last Layer, written and directed by Trina Kakacek. Mercury Considers the Last Layer is a melodramatic romp, set in the dualistic world of burlesque, which follows the age-old quest of finding one's heart and one's self. Mercury was developed in the Victory Gardens Access Project Artist Development Workshop, with the lead male role written for actor, writer and Thespinariam Michael Herzovi. This special performance, which includes open captioning and American Sign Language interpretation, is meant for a mature audience. The performance is Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 7:30PM in the Zacek-McVay Theater at the Victory Gardens Biograph, 2433 N. Lincoln Avenue in Lincoln Park.

Tony Award-winning comedy Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike will feature Resident Actor Jeffrey Bean as Vanya, Sharon Lockwood returning to the Alley as Sonia, Alley Artist Josie de Guzman returning as Masha, and Resident Actor Jay Sullivan as Spike. Rounding out the cast and making their Alley debuts are Rachael Holmes as Cassandra and Sarah Nealis as Nina. Jonathan Moscone, Artistic Director of California Shakespeare Theater, helms the production and returns after having directed the Alley's 2011 production of Amadeus.
