One Man A CHRISTMAS CAROL at Blue Bamboo Center for the Arts

Southern Winds Theater presents a one man presentation of A Christmas Carol written and performed by David A. McElroy. Mr. McElroy adapted for the stage and performs all 37 different characters. A Christmas Carol is directed by Marylin McGinnis with Stage Management by Bonnie Sprung.

In his lifetime, Charles Dickens was recognized not only as a great writer, but as an actor. His greatest successes on the stages of Britain and the United States were his solo performances of his own work. One of the first pieces he presented to great acclaim was A Christmas Carol. A CHRISTMAS CAROL WITH CHARLES DICKENS will perform at Independent Studio from Thursday, December 8 - Sunday, December 18(Thursdays - Sundays) at Independent Studio in the Atwater Crossing Arts + Innovation Complex, 3191 Casitas Ave., #168 in Atwater Village.

Get into the Holiday Spirit at The Ridgefield Playhouse!  Ridgefield Academy Family Series presents "A Dickens Tale" - a retelling of the beloved Charles Dickens' classic, A Christmas Carol - on Today, November 19 at 11am and 2pm. In this family friendly production,which is partially underwritten by Books on the Common, South Salem Animal Hospital and Noah's Ark Animal Hospital, the audience will meet the mean old man named Ebenezer Scrooge, known for his penny pinching ways.  Scrooge is visited by three spirits on a snowy Christmas Eve.

AIN'T MISBEHAVIN' Returns to The Harlem Repertory Theatre

The Harlem Repertory Theatre is reviving the 1978 TONY award winning musical 'Ain't Misbehavin', for a very limited engagement from October 8th to March 25th at the Tato Laviera Theatre at Harlem Prep Elementary School, 240 East 123rd Street (at 3rd Ave.), Manhattan. A swinging, rip-roaring musical tribute to the black musicians of the Harlem Renaissance, 'Ain't Misbehavin' opened on Broadway in 1978 as a musical revue of Jazz Legend Fats Waller's popular songbook, and it ended up winning a number of awards including the TONY for Best Musical. The Harlem Repertory Theatre's production of 'Ain't Misbehavin', which sold out it's 2008 run and won the AUDELCO 2008 Musical Production of the Year Award, is now returning to the Harlem Rep's stage for its' 2016-17 season in a new intimate cabaret style that will bring the audience closer to the performers. This brilliant showcase of Fats Waller's magnificent songbook will have audiences dancing in the aisles as the HRT's finest company members sing the toe-tapping, hand-clapping songs: T'Ain't Nobody's Business, This Joint is Jumpin', Honeysuckle Rose, the title song, Ain't Misbehavin', and many more! The Harlem Repertory Theatre is proud to be bringing this production back to Harlem; to the neighborhoods Fats Waller knew growing up that inspired him!

Whirlwind Holiday Adventure GREAT EXPECTATIONS Opens 11/30

TheatreSquared announced the full cast and creative team for its upcoming holiday feature, a world premiere stage adaptation of Charles Dickens's Great Expectations. After a startling Christmas Eve encounter, Pip's life will never be the same. Plucked from poverty and thrust into the Victorian upper class, he strives to discover himself and find true love while untangling a web of secrets. Six actors portray more than 30 characters in this virtuosic retelling for the stage. Performances are scheduled for November 30 through New Year's Day, with tickets ($15-$45) available at theatre2.org or (479) 443-5600.
