PETER AND THE STARCATCHER Stars, Nina Arianda, Megan Hilty and More Join Broadway Barks 14

Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the fourteenth annual BROADWAY BARKS!, a star-studded dog and cat adoption event benefiting New York City animal shelters and adoption agencies. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, sponsored by the ASPCA (The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) and with additional sponsorship by the New York Times, the event will take place on Saturday, July 14 in Shubert Alley, the heart of the Broadway Theater District (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenues). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from animal shelters citywide will take place between 5-6:30 p.m.

Last night, March 14, the casts of GODSPELL and WICKED gathered outside the Gershwin Theatre to wish Stephen Schwartz a happy birthday, which he celebrated last week. On hand for the festivities were Hunter Parrish (GODSPELL), Wallace Smith (GODSPELL), Lindsay Mendez (GODSPELL), Jackie Burns (WICKED), Richard H. Blake (WICKED) and more. The hit Broadway musical Wicked, a longtime partner of the national bully prevention organization BullyBust, will join with Givenik.com to raise funds and awareness for BullyBust on Tuesday, January 17th. All tickets purchased through Givenik.com for the 7pm performance of Wicked on Tuesday, January 17th will also provide admission to a private post-performance reception at Planet Hollywood with Wicked cast and creative team members. Today, BroadwayWorld.com is announcing the nominees for the 2011 BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards! Representatives of 67 different theater productions, which played at 40 different Chicagoland theaters, are nominated in the 25 categories for the second annual Awards. As these are the only Theater Fan Choice Awards for the internationally known Chicago theater scene, the nominees rightly come from both Equity and Non-Equity theater companies, and from the worlds of plays, musicals, revues and touring shows.

Beginning today, Jackie Burns and Chandra Lee Schwartz will assume the roles of Elphaba and Glinda, respectively, in the Broadway cast of Wicked. Ms. Burns and Ms. Schwartz come to Broadway directly from Wicked's First National Tour. The Broadway company currently features Richard H. Blake as Fiyero, Kathy Fitzgerald as Madame Morrible, Tom McGowan as The Wizard, Etai BenShlomo as Boq, Cristy Candler as Nessarose, and Tom Flynn as Dr. Dillamond.

Broadway In Chicago is thrilled to announce the return engagement of WICKED this fall, beginning Wednesday, December 1, 2010. The most successful show in Chicago history makes its triumphant return to the Cadillac Palace Theatre (151 W. Randolph) for eight weeks only, December 1, 2010 to January 23, 2011. Tickets for WICKED will go on sale to Broadway In Chicago Subscription Series holders and groups in February, 2010. Individual tickets for WICKED will be available at a later date to be announced.
