The full cast of Disney's Aladdin, a new musical based on the Academy Award winning animated film, began rehearsals today in New York City. Aladdin will launch at Toronto's Ed Mirvish Theatre (formerly the Canon) November 1, 2013 to January 5, 2014. Opening night there is November 21, 2013. The Lied Center for Performing Arts is thrilled to announce the Lincoln premiere of the ASCAP New Musical Theatre Workshop. This exciting event, held annually in New York and Los Angeles, hits Lincoln today, September 10 - 12, 2013 and offers artists the opportunity to 'Grow A Show' with the help of renowned industry experts. The workshop will center on staged readings of selected new works from across the United States. The Lied Center has developed a musical theatre festival to accompany this prestigious workshop, which includes master classes and a concert which will incorporate local talent and visiting Broadway guest artists.
Nine of the Fox Theatre's 2013-2014 U.S. Bank Broadway Series shows will go on sale today, September 7 at 10am. From 10am to 2pm, the public is invited to view the newly restored auditorium ceiling and to enjoy free tours of the theatre.
