ELF THE MUSICAL National Set for Limited Run at Kennedy Center, 12/17-1/5

By:

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and NETworks Presentations present the national tour of Elf The Musical from December 17, 2013 to January 5, 2014 in the Kennedy Center Opera House. Based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema hit, Elf features songs by Tony Award nominees Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (The Wedding Singer), with a book by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie, The Producers, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone). The production features direction by Sam Scalamoni and choreography by Connor Gallagher. Press opening night is Thursday, December 19, 2013 at 7:30 p.m.

Elf is the hilarious tale of Buddy, a young orphan child who mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported back to the North Pole. Unaware that he is actually human, Buddy's enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father, discover his true identity, and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas. This modern day Christmas classic is sure to make everyone embrace their inner Elf.

The cast features Will Blum as Buddy, Larry Cahn as Walter, Lindsay Nicole Chambers as Jovie, Lanene Charters as Deb, Ken Clement as Santa, Larent Giroux as Mr. Greenway, Julia Louise Hosack as Emily, Noah Marlowe as Michael, and Kevyn Morrow as Store Manager.

The cast also features Jen Bechter, Darren Biggart, Giovanni Bonaventura, Erick Buckley, Elizabeth Burton, Audrey Cardwell, Drew Franklin, George Franklin, Karen Hyland, Paul Ianniello, Eric Anthony Johnson, ChanDon Jones, Drew King, Julie Kotarides, Andrew Kruep, and Emily Larger.
