Michael Yeargan and Susan Tsu Among 2016 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards Recipients

Legendary scenic and costume designer, MICHAEL YEARGAN (currently represented on Broadway with Fiddler on the Roof and The King and I), and costume designer SUSAN TSU are among the 2016 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards recipients. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, May 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).  Ms. Tsu was selected to receive the 2016 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Yeargan will receive the Robert L.B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through Theatre Development Fund's Costume Collection.

Lehmann Maupin Presents Hernan Bas' BRIGHT YOUNG THINGS Exhibition, 3/10

Lehmann Maupin is pleased to present Hernan Bas' Bright Young Things, the artist's fourth solo exhibition with the gallery, featuring new paintings on canvas and paper. Bas draws from a pool of references found in art, poetry, religion, mythology, film, and literature. In this recent series, he turns his attention specifically to 1920s London, and a group of young, bohemian aristocrats that emerged post-World War I. The artist will be present for an opening reception at the gallery on Thursday, March 10 from 6-8 PM.

Tickets Go on Sale Today for MY FAIR LADY in Sydney

Tickets for the 60th Anniversary production of Lerner and Loewe's masterpiece MY FAIR LADY go on sale today 21 November. MY FAIR LADY will play at the Joan Sutherland Theatre, Sydney Opera House, from 30 August, 2016 for a strictly limited season. This new production, which recreates the original 1956 Broadway production, will be directed by the actress who created the role of Eliza Doolittle in the original production, the world-renowned actor and director Dame Julie Andrews.

The Costume Institute Opens JACQUELINE DE RIBES: THE ART OF STYLE Today

The Costume Institute's Fall 2015 exhibition, Jacqueline de Ribes: The Art of Style, will focus on the internationally renowned style icon Countess Jacqueline de Ribes, whose originality and elegance established her as one of the most celebrated fashion personas of the 20th century. The exhibition will be on view in The Metropolitan Museum of Art's Anna Wintour Costume Center from today, November 19, 2015 through February 21, 2016.

Dame Julie Andrews To Direct Recreation Of The Original 1956 Broadway Production of MY FAIR LADY For Opera Australia and The Gordon Frost Organisation

To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the Alan Jay Lerner and Frederick Loewe's MY FAIR LADY and the 60th Anniversary of Opera Australia, Opera Australia and The Gordon Frost Organisation are collaborating to recreate the original production Broadway production.  Multiple Award Winning star of stage and screen, Dame Julie Andrews, the first Eliza Doolittle, will share her knowledge with a new generation of performers as she directs this production.  Andrews was joined by Opera Australia's CEO Craig Hassell, Artistic Director Lyndon Terrancini AM, The Gordon Frost Organisation Managing Director John Frost AM and NSW Minister for Trade, Tourism and Major Events Stuart Ayres to give the media an insight into what audiences can when the show opens at the Sydney Opera House on 30 August 2016. 

BWW Reviews: MY FAIR LADY at Rubicon Theatre Company

In the opening scene of the Rubicon Theatre Company's production of My Fair Lady, buskers in London's Covent Garden, where Cockney Eliza Doolittle works as a flower girl, are rewarded with tuppence given to them by members of the audience. It is this kind of intimacy, an initial breaking of the fourth wall, that helps make Rubicon's current production an enchanting, warm-hearted interpretation of one of Broadway's most beloved musicals.

Saks Fifth Avenue New York Launches Manolo Blahnik

On August 22, 2015, Saks Fifth Avenue's New York flagship will make history with Manolo Blahnik. For the first time, the Manolo Blahnik brand joins Saks New York's famed 10022-SHOE designer shoe salon on Eight with a permanent boutique, one of the largest Manolo Blahnik boutiques in the world. Saks Fifth Avenue will celebrate the momentous occasion with New York windows, exclusive Manolo Blahnik footwear, the launch of Blahnik's new book Fleeting Gestures and Obsessions and companywide events, including a rare, in-store appearance by the designer at his Saks New York boutique in September.

Rare Audrey Hepburn Photographs to Be Displayed at the National Portrait Gallery, This Summer

Thirty-five important photographs of Audrey Hepburn from the personal collection of her sons, Sean Hepburn Ferrer and Luca Dotti, will go on rare UK display in the National Portrait Gallery's summer exhibition Audrey Hepburn: Portraits of an Icon, it was announced today. This major photography exhibition, which will explore the life and career of the celebrated film star, is the first British exhibition to be organised with support from the Audrey Hepburn Estate.
