Signature Theatre Company Extends THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE Through 4/1

Signature Theatre Company has just announced a one-week extension for EDWARD ALBEE'S THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE, directed by David Esbjornson. The production will now play through Sunday, April 1 and is the inaugural production in The End Stage Theatre at the company's new home The Pershing Square Signature Center. The production will open on Monday, March 5. Tickets during the extension week are $75 each. Signature announced yesterday that Katori Hall's HURT VILLAGE has also been extended, and will now play in The Romulus Linney Courtyard Theatre through March 25.

Signature Theatre Adds Kenneth Lonergan’s MEDIEVAL PLAY to 2012 Lineup

Signature Theatre just announced that the company will produce the world premiere of Kenneth Lonergan's new play MEDIEVAL PLAY, which Lonergan will also direct. The production runs May 15 - June 24, 2012 with a June 7 opening night in The End Stage Theatre at the Company's new Frank Gehry-designed home The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Casting will be announced at a later date.

After 32 years, it seems as if every year, everyone and his agent sends a one-act play script to The Ensemble Studio Theatre for its annual marathon of one-act plays, the oldest, acclaimed one-act play festival in the country. This year is no exception with 886 one-act scripts totaling 21,264 pages which were read by 17 readers over 5 months. From that, Ensemble Studio Theatre artistic director William Carden selected 10 plays this spring to be presented on two separate programs for the Ensemble Studio Theatre's 2010 Marathon of One-Act Plays May 24 through June 26.

As previously reported, My Girl's Anna Chlumsky and Kristen Johnston are set to headline the Mint Theater Company's SO HELP ME GOD! The Off-Broadway run, which will begin previews November 18th, opens officially at the Lucile Lortel Theatre Dec. 7 and runs through Dec. 20. Last night, December 7, The Mint Theater Company opened its hotly anticipated production of So Help Me God!, toplined by Kristen Johnston and Anna Chlumsky, to critical raves. Mint Theater Company today announced that its second offering of the season, So Help Me God! by Maurine Dallas Watkins (the author of Chicago, the play upon which the musical is based), will be directed by Mint Artistic Director Jonathan Bank, taking over for the previously announced Martin Platt, who has left the production for personal reasons.
