(Displaced Wedding), Casey Biggs ("Star Trek: Deep Space Nine"), Alex Mickiewicz (Williamstown Theatre Festival), and Catherine Curtin ("Orange Is the New Black"). Cloven Tongues, which was a finalist for the O'Neill National Playwrights Conference in 2013, will play a 3 week engagement at The Wild Project (195 East 3rd Street) starting November 8, 2013. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the cast in rehearsals below!
When Lela, a woman with an unknown past, is arrested and held at the border, she is taken in by Jenny, a social worker, and Ronald, a priest, who find it takes nothing less than a miracle to unlock her deepest secrets. As Lela's brutal personal history is revealed, Jenny and Ronald struggle with how best to heal her and find that they must also come to terms with their reasons for trying to help her in the first place. A drama about the effects of sex trafficking and war, Cloven Tongues is a play about the power and limitations of communication, altruism, and faith.
The show will have costume design by Joseph Blaha, scenic design by Heather Freedman, lighting design by Nicholas Houfek, sound design by Anthony Mattana, and props by Jacob Sampson.
