After a most successful run last December, For The Record's LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE encores at The Wallis beginning November 27, 2019. FTR pairs the actual screening of the 2003 perennial holiday hit film Love Actually with live singers and a 15-piece orchestra on stage complementing the movie's soundtrack. I got the chance to grab a few minutes and some behind-the-scenes with the prolific, ever busy, For The Record Live executive producer Shane Scheel.

New York Theatre Barn's 12th season continues with its signature New Works Series on Monday, September 16th, 2019, with exclusive pre-premieres of the new musicals The Pickup Artist and My Name is Annie King. New York Theatre Barn serves as a home for new musicals during incubation.
The new musical, The Crossing and the Ten Crucial Days, will present an industry reading at the Washington Crossing Park on the Delaware River in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where the titular crossing took place. Directed by Gabriel Vega Weissman (Titus Burgess in Concert), with book and lyrics by Jason Huza (It Happened in Key West) and music by John Allen Watts, the reading will take place on September 5th, 2019. With support from The Washington Crossing Park, The Ten Crucial Days Organization, and the Crossing Vineyards, the site-specific musical presentation is drawing on the local roots.

Bay Street Theater and Guild Hall, in association with Jamie Cesa and Bel Chiasso Entertainment present a free concert staged reading of The Romeo & Juliet Project, a new musical, featuring the music of Pat Benatar and Neil Giraldo, with book by Bradley Bredeweg. This FREE community event will be held in Mashashimuet Park in Sag Harbor, NY on August 16 and 17 at 7 pm and is the latest installment of Bay Street's ongoing Under the Stars Community Outreach Program. The performance is directed by Scott Schwartz, Bay Street Theater's Artistic Director.

GODSPELL began as John Michael Tebelak's master thesis at Carnegie Mellon University with lyrics taken directly from the Episcopal Hymnal. Stephen Schwartz, also from Carnegie Mellon, was hired to write a new score, adding original songs to the modernized hymns.
