The New Britain Museum of American Art (NBMAA) is honored to present Some Day is Now: Women, Art & Social Change from October 1, 2020 through January 24, 2021. Marking the 100th anniversary of women's suffrage in America, the exhibition links past with present, by showcasing historic ephemera from the women's suffrage movement with nearly 100 works by iconic American artists of the 20th and 21st centuries whose work advocates for social empowerment and change. 

The City of Atlanta - Mayor's Office of Cultural Affairs will bring its annual ELEVATE public art festival to Atlanta's historic West End neighborhood from Sunday, October 4 to Saturday, October 10, 2020. This year's festival events will be virtual.

Times Square Arts is excited to announce the return of Midnight Moment, the world's largest, longest-running digital art exhibition, synchronized on electronic billboards throughout Times Square nightly from 11:57pm to midnight. Beginning this September through November, Times Square's screens will light up with site-specific video works by artists Kambui Olujimi, Optical Animal, and Zina Saro-Wiwa.

The Joyce announced today the remaining digital programming for Summer 2020 on its acclaimed streaming platform, JoyceStream. The Herb Alpert Foundation and the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) have awarded the 2020 Herb Alpert Award in the Arts (HAAIA) to five exceptional mid-career artists. Now in its 26th year, the annual award provides five unrestricted $75,000 grants to independent artists working in the fields of dance, film/video, music, theatre and visual arts. The recipients will be honored at a virtual ceremony hosted by Herb Alpert, his wife Lani Hall Alpert and the Herb Alpert Foundation on Friday, May 22, 2020.

In addition to the Armory and National Black Theatre, the commissioning institutions are: Apollo Theater; The Julliard School; La MaMa Experimental Theatre Company; The Laundromat Project; The Metropolitan Museum of Art; Museum of the Moving Image; National Sawdust; New York University (Department of Photography and Imaging, Tisch School of the Arts; Office of Global Inclusion, Diversity and Strategic Innovation; and Institute of African American Affairs & Center for Black Visual Culture); and Urban Bush Women.

Kyle Abraham, one of today's most in-demand choreographers who was originally inspired to pursue dance by Prince, brings his company, A.I.M, to Northrop on Sat, Feb 29 with a diverse range of mixed repertory in a copresentation with Walker Art Center. The public evening performance caps a three-day A.I.M residency that includes two student matinees and other events. The matinee experiences are part of a partnership with the Minneapolis Public School District's Cultural Experiences Program.
