Celebrate the musical and comedy artistry of Robert Klein, Julie Gold, and more at the 39th Annual Bistro Awards Gala on April 1 at Gotham Comedy Club. Hosted by Steve Hayes, the event honors exceptional artists with performances and special awards.

Friends, current and former students, and many of the incredible musicians she has collaborated with over the years will gather on Monday, May 15th 2017 from 7 to 10pm at the extraordinary Minnie Petrie Synagogue at Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion.

Soundbrush Records releases “Live at Caffè Vivaldi, Vol. 3,” recordings of Roger Davidson's Brazilian jazz piano solo performances.

The life, career and legacy of the late Mark Murphy, whom the Washington Post described as "a daringly original jazz singer whose unchained improvisational style made him a cult favorite and a powerful influence on a generation of younger performers," will be celebrated with music and reminiscences on Monday, March 14, 2016 at St Peter's Church in Manhattan.

All the verses and their titles are constructed solely of jazz tunes with two exceptions. The title exception is 'Jazz Haiku.' The content exception is 'Vibraphonissimo,' a chronological block of vibraphone players whose music I've come to know, resting upon the two pioneers of the instrument. Commas separate titles within the verses, but interior commas from song titles have been removed to prevent confusion.

Soundbrush Records artist, Nicole Borger, joined pianist and composer, Roger Davidson, as a guest vocalist during a recent Live at Caffe Vivaldi concert in New York's Greenwich Village.

Jazz headliner Carol Fredette and Tony Award-winning actress and singer Lillias White will be among the eleven performers honored at the 30th Annual Bistro Awards gala, which recognizes outstanding achievement in New York cabaret, jazz, and comedy. The celebration will take place on Wednesday, March 4, at 6:30pm at Gotham Comedy Club, 208 W. 23rd Street.

All Nite Soul, the Jazz Ministry at Saint Peter's will honor pianist Barry Harris and vocalist Sheila Jordan. All Nite Soul begins on Sunday, October 13 at 5 PM with Jazz Vespersand pianist/organist Sarah McLawler and Les Jazz Femmes, and goes into full swing at 7 PM with a concert of over 80 musicians honoring Barry Harris (pianist) and Sheila Jordan (vocalist), National Endowment for the Arts Jazz Masters who began their musical careers in Detroit, Michigan.

Carol Fredette is everything you need in a jazz singer. She thinks, swings and phrases like a creative instrumentalist, yet her way with words captures the essence of a lyric," says critic Dan Morgenstern, one of her many fans. Her deep expressive voice, strong sense of swing and charismatic presence have wowed audiences, critics and fellow musicians the world over. Produced by writer Rob Lester, the evening, which consists of two different shows (8 & 10 pm) will benefit Cabaret Scenes Magazine, with all proceeds donated to Cabaret Scenes Magazine, the only print publication of its kind, its website, www.cabaretscenes.org and the non-profit Cabaret Foundation. Associate producer is Stevie Phillips. According to producer Rob Lester, this Centennial 'Cahn-cert' includes special 'Cahn-versations' about Sammy and a 'Cahn-Test' with prizes and a raffle.

This April, The National Jazz Museum in Harlem continues to offer a wide range of top quality free programming and affordable concerts from jazz's most celebrated musicians, educators and historians. With International Jazz Day on April 30th our Jazz For Curious Listeners series this month focuses on international artists discussing and demonstrating jazz from around the world and culminates with an international jazz jam blowout with Jonathan Batiste on April 30th at MIST Harlem.
