The New York Musical Festival (NYMF) has announced the performer lineup for the Women of Note concert series, celebrating female, queer and trans artists who are changing the landscape of musical theatre. Featuring dynamic sounds and incredible performers, this one-night-only concert event will showcase even more artists than last year in two back-to-back performances.  Women of Note will take place at The Duke on 42nd Street (229 W. 42nd Street) on Monday, August 1 with two separate lineups at 6:30 pm and 9:30 pm. Who would have ever thought a musical about urban planning could be as effective and engaging, and as thoroughly compelling (if somewhat confusing and confounding, by turns) as If/Then, the latest work from the Pulitzer Prize-winning (for next to normal) duo of Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey?

LezCab, a non-profit theatre company devoted to creating an accurate and meaningful representation of queer women in order to foster equality and community, will present LezCab Sings the 90s on May 28, 2016 at Le Poisson Rouge. 

Dave Schoonover (The Fantasticks, Young Frankenstein) and Abigail Shapiro (How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Liberty the Musical) are set to join the cast of Love Songs for V-Day at 54 Below!

The third volume of the concert features a cast of dynamic performers from the Broadway and NYC theatre communities, singing songs from across the musical theatre spectrum about, well, love. The love we make, the love we take, the love we find, and the love we hold onto - this evening will see and sing us through it all. This year, the song selections feature female musical theatre writers and composers.

The two-time Tony Award-winning actress and Broadway Legend Sutton Foster will be performing for one night only this Friday the 29th of January at the Charles Luney Auditorium at St Margaret's College in Christchurch, following two weeks of tutoring and mentoring at the Christchurch International Musical Theatre Summer School.

Two-time Tony Award winning actress Sutton Foster is coming to Christchurch to headline the Christchurch International Musical Theatre Summer School (CIMTSS) and to perform a very special concert with special guest Andrea Burns, on Friday January 29th.

As expected, Tony Award winner and Broadway superstar Idina Menzel drew thunderous applause a mere second into the the start of IF/THEN's opening night performance at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre last Wednesday night. It's no stretch then to say that her mere existence in this very same role she herself originated in the original Broadway production seems, above everything else, to be the immediate draw to the recently launched national tour now on stage at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood for a four week engagement through January 3, 2016. The bonus? She is joined onstage by her original co-stars LaChanze, Anthony Rapp, and James Snyder!

The Lilly Awards Foundation (Marsha Norman, President) proudly presents The Lilly Awards Broadway Cabaret, an evening of musical showstoppers written by women and performed by Broadway's best to benefit The Lilly Awards Foundation whose mission is to promote gender parity at all levels of theatrical production, and develop and celebrate the work of women in the theater.

Opening Night of the American screwball comedy His Girl Friday, John Guare's adaptation of Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthur's original play The Front Page and the screen version of His Girl Friday took place at Barrington Stage Co. and Broadwayworld's Stephen Sorokoff was there. Julianned Boyd artistic director of BSC was the director.

Craig, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Dan Fogler, Lisa Howard, Jose Llana, Jay Reiss, and Sarah Saltzberg - will reunite for a special one-night-only 10 Year Anniversary benefit concert tonight, July 6 at 7:30pm at Town Hall (123 West 43rd Street).
