Two-time Tony Award winning actress Sutton Foster is coming to Christchurch to headline the Christchurch International Musical Theatre Summer School (CIMTSS) and to perform a very special concert with special guest Andréa Burns, on Friday January 29th. Ms Foster is one of the leading Broadway performer of her generation - she was most recently the Broadway revival of Violet - and originated roles in the Broadway productions of The Drowsy Chaperone, Little Women, Young Frankenstein, Shrek The Musical, and her Tony Award-winning performances in Anything Goes and Thoroughly Modern Millie.

CIMTSS Director Luke Di Somma says that securing Sutton Foster is a major coup: "It is almost unprecedented to have an artist of Sutton's calibre, accomplishment and international regard here in Christchurch. In addition to being a world-class performer, Sutton is also a passionate teacher, and we are delighted to have her at the headline tutor at CIMTSS." Ms Foster will also be joined by New York director Peter Flynn, musical director Carmel Dean, and actress Andréa Burns - who headlined the first CIMTSS in 2014.

"Our 2014 school was our first, and it was an amazing experience. But 2016 looks to be even better! CIMTSS is the only school of its kind in New Zealand, and we are thrilled to have secured this extraordinary group of tutors" says Luke Di Somma.

Tickets are available through the Court Theatre - http://www.courttheatre.org.nz.

Luke Di Somma is a New Zealand born musical director and composer who studied at New York Universities' Tisch School of the Arts on a Fulbright Scholarship.
