Carlos Dengler has a strong sense of arrangement and cinematic accomplishment, the spectrum of sounds is balanced and well constructed. The melodies originate in the bass, while the spectrum of instrumental and other sounds gives a rich and peaceful feeling, a lot of natural instrumentation, a lot of acoustic instrumentation. If you like Patrick O'Hearn, Erik Scott, Brian Eno, or Yes, you might enjoy Private Earth.

Washington, a new family drama by up-and-coming playwright, Eric Ratee, opened last weekend at The Attic at The Tank. Due to the overwhelming success of their sold out run, Washington will return in limited engagement from Saturday, May 6 through Sunday, May 7 at the coveted downtown Off-Off Broadway 'Tense Theatre,' run by Beckett Rosset. Following Sadie, a young writer returning home for the holidays, as she tries to navigate caring for her bipolar brother, holding together dying friendships with her childhood best friends, and understanding and accepting the true meaning of what it means to be a family.

Months of speculation come to an end today as details of the new Interpol album can finally be confirmed: One of the most critically and commercially acclaimed bands of the last decade and a half will release their sixth album, Marauder, August 24th on Matador Records.

The Mighty Quinn Foundation hosted Shakespeare and Champagne, a fundraising benefit for the Shakespeare Academy at Stratford, on May 15 at Ars Nova in New York City. Dorset Theatre Festival will stage Katie Forgette's Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Jersey Lily, a delightfully funny and exciting take on the famous detective story that weaves together threads of history and literature including the great Sherlock Holmes himself, his trusted friend Watson, the sinister Moriarty, the glamorous Lillie Langtry, and even Oscar Wilde. The production will be directed by Margarett Perry and will run from July 9th through the 25th. 'There is a reason that Sherlock is such a popular figure in literature as well as on stage and in film,' says Artistic Director Dina Janis. 'These mysteries are engaging throughout and always very satisfying. This piece in particular is so clever and entertaining.' The Case of the Jersey Lily places literature's favorite genius detective right in the middle of a blackmail scheme that connects the famous actress Lillie Langtry, celebrated playwright Oscar Wilde (just finishing work on his new play, The Importance of Being Forthright), criminal mastermind James Moriarty and Queen Victoria herself.

Based on some factual material, "VATICAN FALLS" follows the life of one survivor who struggles with understanding how those closest to him could damage him the deepest.

Impetus Ensemble will add Lucia Grillo to the cast of this special presentation of an ambitious new play, Vatican Falls, written by Frank J. Avella (author of "Consent") and set against the backdrop of the Catholic sex abuse scandal.
