The 2010 New York Innovative Theatre Awards were presented Monday night, September 20, at Manhattan's Cooper Union. Choreographer and dancer JESSE ZARITT swept the awards for which he was nominated, including Outstanding Solo Performance, Outstanding Choreography and Outstanding Performance Art Production. Mr. Zaritt appeared in terraNOVA Collective's soloNOVA Arts Festival in May of 2010 as the inaugural production of Theatre C, founded by Artistic Director Carlos Armesto.

The Princess Grace Foundation-USA (PGF-USA) is proud to announce that the 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at Cipriani 42nd Street in New York City. The Awards ceremony will include the presentation of 21 awards to emerging artists in theater, dance and film as well as the Prince Rainier III Award to be presented to Denzel and Pauletta Washington and the Princess Grace Statue Award to be presented to Anna D. Shapiro. The Award recipients hail from cities and states across America and will travel to New York City to receive their honor at the glamorous black tie ceremony. The 28th Annual Princess Grace Awards Gala will take place in the presence of Her Royal Highness Caroline Princess of Hanover. The evening will be co-chaired by Bonnie Pfeifer Evans. Presenting Sponsor for the Gala is Hermes; Platinum Sponsors are The Charles Evans Foundation and Noelle and Dick Wolf; and Crown Sponsor is Lily Safra.

Theatre C has had an exciting inaugural season! Following its extended run of Jesse Zaritt's BINDING as part of the 7th Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival at Performance Space 122, the company was nominated for three New York Innovative Theatre Awards including Best Choreography, Best Solo Performance, and Best Performance Art Piece.

Anna D. Shapiro to Receives 2010 Princess Grace Statue Award 11/10; Winners List Announced

Director Anna D. Shapiro of Chicago's Steppenwolf Theatre Company has been awarded the 2010 Princess Grace Statue Award, The Princess Grace Foundation has announced. Shapiro previously received a Princess Grace Theater Apprenticeship in 1996.

Due to popular demand, ReVision Theatre, in association with Theatre C, is pleased to announce the extension of 'The Who's Tommy' directed by Carlos Armesto. The show was originally scheduled to close on Sunday evening July 25th, but due to overwhelming audience response and sold-out performances, ReVision has added three additional performances on Thursday July 29, Friday July 30 and Saturday July 31, showtime is 8 pm.

Midtown International Theatre Festival Announces Short Subject Selections; Runs 7/12-8/1

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) announced selected plays for SHORT SUBJECTS, a division for plays that run under 60 minutes. 23 plays were selected. The festival will run from July 12 - August 1, 2010. Tickets are $15-18.
