Theatre C has had an exciting inaugural season! Following its extended run of Jesse Zaritt's BINDING as part of the 7th Annual soloNOVA Arts Festival at Performance Space 122, the company was nominated for three New York Innovative Theatre Awards including Best Choreography, Best Solo Performance, and Best Performance Art Piece. Theatre C's second production of The Who's Tommy, co-produced with Asbury Park's ReVision Theatre, was extended to sold-out crowds and critical acclaim. In February 2011 Theatre C will produce Kyoung H. Park's disOriented. Theatre C's Artistic Director Carlos Armesto (who is directing disOriented), has been awarded a Princess Grace Foundation Special Project Grant for the production, which is slated for a February 2011 run at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, featuring Obie Award Winner Ching Valdes-Aran and Hoon Lee (Yellowface at The Public Theater).

THEATRE C exists to create vibrant theatre through the fusing of different forms of expression.
Through the organization's Associated Artists, Theatre C joins the next evolution of theatre by melding puppetry and burlesque, video and dance, acrobatics and installations, hip hop, rock and salsa, and much more to tell the most compelling and moving of stories. The overall intent is to move audiences and open minds.

Carlos Armesto (Artistic Director) Carlos Armesto is the Artistic Director of Theatre C, a New York-based theatre company devoted to creating innovative and arresting theatrical events through the fusion of diverse artistic forms. A director and producer, Mr. Armesto is a former Associate Artistic Director of The Ensemble Studio Theatre. Current Project: disOriented by Kyoung Park (at Peter Jay Sharp Theatre). Projects with Theatre C include Binding by Jesse Zaritt (Extended by P.S. 122/soloNOVA Arts Festival and Nominated for three Innovative Theatre Awards), The Who's Tommy (at ReVision Theatre, Extended), The Ugly Swan by Sammy Buck & Dan Acquisto, Displaced by Lori Fischer, and (e)vaporate by christopher oscar peña and Parker Ferguson. Notable directing credits include: Kingdom (ReVision Theatre; Best Musical of the Season - Star Ledger) and Serendib by David Zellnik (EST-Sloan Mainstage 2007).
