THE INTERNATIONAL Returning for Encore Engagement at Peter Jay Sharp Theater

Urbanite Theatre, a new Florida-based non-profit, inaugurates an innovative producing model this summer in New York by bringing back Origin Theatre Company's critically acclaimed production of Tim Ruddy's 'The International' returns with its original cast for a three-week encore engagement Off-Broadway from Wednesday July 15 to Sunday August 2 at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater, 416 West 42nd Street. Christopher Randolph directs.

City Theatre Stages MIDSUMMER (A PLAY WITH SONGS), Now thru 5/31

City Theatre continues its 40th anniversary season with Midsummer (a play with songs), on the Mainstage today, May 9 - 31, 2015. The play is written by David Greig and singer-songwriter Gordon McIntyre, and is directed by City Theatre Artistic Director Tracy Brigden.

New York Shakespeare Exchange Announces Dates for 2014 ShakesBEER Pub Crawls

New York Shakespeare Exchange, creator of the viral smash The Sonnet Project, is excited to announce the dates and artists for their 2014 ShakesBEER, NYC's Original Shakespearean Pub Crawl. Over the course of 2014, their new repertory ensemble of 18 actors will rotate through a total of 10 raucous Saturday afternoons spent enjoying Shakespeare and cocktails.

Isaiah Johnson Will Perform in Shakespeare Exchange's OTHELLO Tonight

Isaiah Johnson (Broadway: Merchant of Venice with Al Pacino; Peter and the Starcatcher; Off-Bway: Far from Heaven with Kelli O'Hara) steps into the title role of OTHELLO, produced by the New York Shakespeare Exchange and directed by Cristina Lundy. OTHELLO began performances on today, October 15 for a limited engagement through Saturday, November 2. Performances are at Hudson Guild Theater (441 West 26th Street, between 9th & 10th Avenues; C to 23rd Street). The performance schedule istoday at 7 PM; Wednesday - Saturday at 8 PM. MCGOLDRICKS' THREAD Takes Three Awards at ORIGIN'S 1ST IRISH 2013; Winners Announced!

The musical "McGoldricks' Thread" sowed up three major awards at the closing ceremonies last night of the sixth Origin's 1st Irish Theatre Festival, held at Papillon Bistro & Bar, 22 East 54th Street. The crowd-pleasing show, brimming with Irish step dancing performed by a youth-dominated cast, won for Best Production, and Best Direction for Kira Simring. The production also was honored with the Festival's Special Jury Prize.

ORIGIN'S 1ST IRISH 2013 Announces Nominees for Awards Monday

Nominations for the top awards of Origin's 1st Irish 2013 are being announced today for an Awards Ceremony hosted by Papillon Bistro & Bar, 22 East 54th Street on Monday September 30 at 7pm. In all eight plays were seen in competition during the month-long festival which began on September 2. The sixth annual edition of 1st Irish, the first and only festival in the world dedicated to Irish playwrights, welcomed two productions from Ireland, and six from the U.S. by contemporary Irish playwrights from Belfast, Dublin, Boston and New York. A total of six were world premieres.
