Prospect Theater Company will present a private developmental reading of the original musical The Underclassman on Monday, November 25th at New 42nd Street Studios (229 West 42nd Street, NYC). The Underclassman follows the early life of F. Scott Fitzgerald, from 1914 - 1917. Brilliantly talented, Fitzgerald is swept into the hierarchy of Ivy League society and the antics of the Princeton Triangle Club, in pursuit of the beautiful and elusive debutante Ginevra King - who became the model for the character of Daisy Buchanan in The Great Gatsby.
Prospect Theater Company (Cara Reichel, Producing Artistic Director / Melissa Huber, Managing Director) announces a one-show-only concert reading of their original musical The Flood, on Saturday, October 19th at 3pm. First developed by Prospect in 2000-2001, with a subsequent full production in 2006, the book, music and lyrics of this new musical are by founding company members Peter Mills and Cara Reichel. This special encore concert presentation will raise funds to support Prospect's work developing new musicals by emerging writers. The concert is directed by Cara Reichel and music directed by Daniel Feyer.

Jeremy Greenbaum (The Fantasticks) and Aaron Komo complete the cast of Prospect Theater Company's upcoming world premiere production of TAMAR OF THE RIVER, a new music theater work with music and book by Marisa Michelson, book and lyrics by Joshua H. Cohen and direction by Daniel Goldstein (Godspell). Previously announced cast members include Margo Seibert (set to make her Broadway debut as 'Adrian' in ROCKY on Broadway in Spring 2014) as Tamar, with Ako (Throne of Blood), Erik Lochtefeld (February House), Mike Longo (Hair) and Vince B. Vincent (Geography of Loss), and Jen Anaya, Adam Bashian, Margot Bassett, Troy Burton, Tamrin Goldberg and Mary Kate Morrissey.
TAMAR OF THE RIVER will star Margo Seibert (Saving Aimee, Circus in Winter at Playwrights Horizons, Next to Normal at the Weston Playhouse) as Tamar with Ako (Throne of Blood), Noah Galvin (Burnt Part Boys), Erik Lochtefeld (February House), Mike Longo (Hair) and Vince B. Vincent (Geography of Loss). The cast also features Jen Anaya, Adam Bashian, Margot Bassett, Troy Burton, Tamrin Goldberg, Mary Kate Morrissey and Manuel Stark.
Due to popular demand, Illyria at Taproot Theatre is extending through August 17, giving people an additional week to catch the show that critics and audiences are raving about.

Auditions are currently underway for Prospect Theater Company's annual Musical Theater Summer Intensive for students aged 12-17. Beginning July 8 and running through July 27, students will participate in a daily musical theater training program from 10am - 6pm.
