It's the time of the year to head outside for a THREE FREE PERFORMANCES of The Lost Folio at Cowen Park - just two blocks north of the Jet City Improv Theater!
Mack & Mabel, which will embark on a UK & Ireland Tour in Autumn 2015 following its premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre, stars double Oliver award-winning Michael Ball and Rebecca LaChance. Based on the real-life romance between Hollywood legends Mack Sennett and Mabel Normand, it tells the story of a group of pioneering filmmakers who changed the world surrounded by the great fun of the silent screen: heroes in capes, girls tied to the tracks, glamorous BathingBeauties and the chaos of the Keystone Kops. Check out photos of the cast in action below!
The servants are downstairs and the Masters upstairs and the scandals and secrets are flying. It could be another episode of the PBS hit "Downton Abbey" except in this case the scandal is … well, you won't know until the audience shouts it out. As it is with most improv shows at Jet City Improv's "Upside Downton", the audience decides the direction of the story and it's up to the talented folks at Jet City to turn it into a Brit-ish (some of those accents were hilariously off) evening of fun. And while only half of the house seemed to really be clicking the night I saw, it still amounted to a great time.
Jet City Improv is dusting off the chandeliers and lining up the servants in order to kick off 2014 with Upside Downton, their loving homage to Downton Abbey which will run Today and Friday nights starting the same week the TV show returns to PBS.

Theatrically speaking, there are few things in this town that are a sure lock of enjoyment. Anything from New Century? Sure. Putting Bobbi Kotula on stage? Hell yes. And any of the 'Twilight Zone: Live!' productions from Theater Schmeater? Damn Skippy! The tall, dark and brooding master of the bizarre, Rod Serling is back to take us into another dimension. A dimension of sight, a dimension of sound and a dimension of a kick ass night of eerie 60's fun that definitely qualifies as one of those sure locks I spoke of.
The Twilight Zone: Live! returns to the comfy confines of Theater Schmeater, presenting three classic episodes from the iconic television series promises to pluck at heartstrings, bemuse with dry irony, and terrify by innocence.
