From the Last Night of My Life), performances begin on September 15 and run through October 2, 2017 at 12th Avenue Arts (1620 12th Avenue). You know that nightmare you have where nothing makes sense as the plot keeps switching from one horrible situation to the next? You try and try but you just can't make anything good last for more than five minutes. Now try living that and you'll have what the character Mo (Tim Gouran) feels like all the time in Linda McLean's disturbing play "Every Five Minutes" currently from Washington Ensemble Theatre. With some amazing performances especially from Gouran, you may leave a bit broken but you'll leave thinking.

And of course, our signature 12 Days of Christmas!
We all know that Broadway can be a fickle lady from time to time, tossing shows to and fro. Last season's Shuffle Along was critically lauded and ten times nominated for Tonys and then it was gone. Poof. I'm sure many of us have read articles about the whys and wherefores, but the fact is the show was great and filled with amazing talent. We wrangled some Shuffle alums together for an unforgettable night of music, laughs and TAP DANCING!!!! Check out performances (and our signature Schloppy Plot Shynopsis) by Zurin Villanueva, Leo Ash Evens, CK Edwards and Joseph Wiggan here. Also enjoy performances by our gorgeous Rising Stars Kathryn Francisco, Staci Jo Johnston and a very special peck at Ben Rimalower's Patti Issues.

It would be fairly difficult to not know what's going on with the political campaign these days especially all the asinine things a certain candidate keeps saying which have been fodder for every news cycle and comedian for months. So I guess it was just a matter of time before we get a bit of theater about him which we have with Theater Schmeater's world premiere play of Nick Edwards' "TRUMP The KING or POTUS DRUMPH: Another Sh**ty Adaptation of Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi which May or May Not Resonate with a Contemporary American Audience". And while the show offered up a few laughs I mostly walked away with two major problems with the piece, one structural and one personal (which others may well encounter too) but we'll get to those.
