Jet City Improv to Present 'Naughty and Nice' Holiday Comedies, 11/30-12/21
By: Molly Tracy
Heartwarming family comedies, irreverent naughty improv and holiday traditions are all on Jet City Improv's holiday list for 2013. With a newly added 4pm family matinee, there really is an improvised comedy show for everyone this season. Returning for another year of gut-wrenching raunchy fun is Uncle Mike Ruins Christmas, along with the hilarious take on the holiday classic,It's Your Wonderful Life. All performances of It's Your Wonderful Life are appropriate for all ages, but this is not the case for Uncle Mike Ruins Christmas.
Both of these improvised comedies take audience suggestions of holiday memories at the start of the show, and what happens after that...nobody knows! In It's Your Wonderful Life, audience members get the George Bailey treatment as actors show what their lives might have been like had they never been born, complete with Mr. Potter-esque villains, true love, and angels getting their wings. The cast of Uncle Mike, on the other hand, solicits each night's audiences' most cherished holiday memories and re-enacts them, adding to the story an appearance from the obscene, vulgar, and generally perverse Uncle Mike (played by Mike Murphy, who returns for his sixth season in this role).
