Carpenter Square Theatre will host "Best in Ten 2012," an event to benefit the theater, on Saturday, August 18. The event will be held at 800 W. Main , located at the southwest corner of Main and Shartel in downtown Oklahoma City . Proceeds from "Best in Ten" will help support the theater's building fund, as well as programming for the theatre's 29th Season, which includes eight productions and educational outreach to at-risk students in the metro area. CAPA has moved its box office operations into the space previously occupied by the Ohio Theatre gift shop (39 E. State St.). Dedicated to Barbara and Dr. Ralph Lach in 2010, the new CAPA Ticket Center is located just a few feet from its previous location (from the east side of the Ohio Theatre marquee to the west side). The space was redesigned to enhance customer service and provide patrons with a user-friendly and efficient ticket-buying experience.

Root rocker and author Steve Earle will read from his new novel I'll Never Get Out of This World Alive at Prairie Lights on Tuesday, August 7 at 4pm, with a book signing and Q&A following. The reading is free and open to the public. An accomplished musician, Steve Earle will also perform at The Englert Theatre later that evening.
