Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) announced the cancellation of the 14th annual Tommy Tune Awards ceremony yesterday due to Houston's emergency level of flooding. However, the winners of the Tommy Tune Awards, along with scholarship recipients, were announced on the Tommy Tune Awards Facebook page at 8 p.m. yesterday evening by MC Sarah Pepper of Hot 95.7.

The Tommy Tune Awards recognize and reward excellence in the production of musical theatre by high school students and their teachers. Co-hosts for this year's awards ceremony include Sarah Pepper and Jim Bernhard. Pepper is a host on Hot 95.7. Bernhard has written several original productions that have debuted at TUTS and authored the organization's theatrical history book, "Stars In Your Eyes".
TUTS Underground presents the cast of the Heathers: The Musical, which makes its Houston debut on April 28, 2016. Based on the 1989 cult classic film, this musical is a dark, delicious story of the most powerful and ruthless clique at Westerberg High - Heather, Heather and Heather. Veronica Sawyer, the only non-Heather of the clique, rejects their ruthless regime when she falls for bad boy J.D. who wants to see all the Heathers six feet under.
