Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) is excited to announce the cast selected to lead its holiday show, White Christmas, scheduled to play December 6 - 18 at Hobby Center for the Performing Arts (800 Bagby, between Walker and Rusk).

Walnut Street Theatre began its landmark 203rd season with Andrew Lloyd Webber's ASPECTS OF LOVE. Directed by award-winning Director Bruce Lumpkin, this all-new production filled with passion, love and loss closes October 23rd on the WST Mainstage.

The Theatre Alliance of Greater Philadelphia's 2011 Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre took place on Wednesday, October 3, 2011! The nominees were selected by an independent committee of 66 voters who each saw 8 of the 147 shows nominated this year. Four additional awards-Excellence in Theatre Education and Community Service Award, the Ted and Stevie Wolf Award for New Approaches to Collaborations, Brown Martin Philadelphia Award and the F. Otto Haas Award for an Emerging Philadelphia Theatre Artist-will also be distributed at the ceremony.

Walnut Street Theatre concludes its landmark 202nd season with an all-new production of the musical masterpiece MISS SAIGON. Directed by award-winning Director Bruce Lumpkin, the international sensation MISS SAIGON began previews on May 17th, opened on May 25th and runs through July 17th on the WST Mainstage.

The votes have all been counted and audited and we're VERY excited to announce the results of the first ever BroadwayWorld.com Philadelphia Awards! Tens of thousands of votes were cast during six weeks of intensive voting on over 150 nominees in 25 categories.  Thank you to all who voted and congratulations to all the winners!

Tonight, October 4, 2010, the following people were honored with Barrymore Awards at the 16th Annual Barrymore Awards Ceremony at the Walnut Street Theatre.

The 2010 Barrymore nominees have been announced! Created in 1994, The Barrymore Awards for Excellence in Theatre are the Greater Philadelphia region's only comprehensive theatre awards program, recognizing artists for excellence and innovation while serving to increase awareness of the richness of the local theatre community. The Barrymore Awards are a nationally recognized symbol of excellence for theatre in this region, raising the bar for the work produced by local theatres and individual artists, and generating significant coverage in all the local newspapers and in national trade publications.Each year, over 120 shows produced by the region's professional theatres are reviewed by the Barrymore Voters. At the annual awards presentation each Fall, the Barrymore Awards are presented to honor the community's collective achievement. Fiddler on the Roof is one of those shows that almost everyone has experienced as some point in their lives - be it the film or a production locally, in NYC or on the high school level. It is for this reason that I feel no need to summarize its plot. It is a great challenge to make such a classic show fresh. With the Walnut's current production, Bruce Lumpkin manages to do just that - balancing presenting the well-known, beloved material with thoughtful directorial choices.
