Phoenix Theatre Presents NORTH OF THE BOULEVARD, Now thru 3/9

Phoenix Theatre of Indianapolis announces the Regional premiere of Bruce Graham's North of the Boulevard. Opening tonight, February 13, 2014 in the Frank and Katrina Basile Theatre at the Phoenix, this show runs through March 9, 2014 and will be directed by Phoenix Theatre Producing Director Bryan Fonseca.

Northlight Theatre to Bring CHAPATTI to Galway Arts Festival, July 2014; Debuts in Chicago, March 7-April 13

Chicago-Northlight Theatre, under the direction of Artistic Director BJ Jones and Executive Director Timothy J. Evans, announces a forthcoming artistic exchange with Ireland through the co-production of Chapatti, a new work developed through Northlight's Interplay program. The co-production of Chapatti will premiere at Northlight Theatre, 9501 Skokie Blvd in Skokie, March 7-April 13, 2014, and will open at the Galway Arts Festival in July 2014. Chapatti, by acclaimed Irish playwright Christian O' Reilly, will be directed by Artistic Director BJ Jones and will feature John Mahoney and Penny Slusher.

Urban Stages to Present CHARACTER MAN, A MUSICAL MEMOIR, 2/28-3/30

Urban Stages Founding Artistic Director Frances Hill and producer Peter Napolitano present the World Premiere of Character Man as part of its 30th Anniversary season. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir begins an Off-Broadway run at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street) February 28th, with opening night set for Wednesday March 5th. This limited run will continue through March 30th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. Character Man will have scenic & video design by Patrick Brennan, lighting design by Meghan Santelli and sound design by Sean Hagerty.

Bristol Riverside Theatre Presents Neil Simon's LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR, 3/18-4/13

Laughter is coming from the stage floor when Bristol Riverside Theatre presents Neil Simon's sidesplitting comedy Laughter on the 23rd Floor on March 18-April 13. Directed by Keith Baker, the ensemble cast features K.O. Delmarcelle, David Edwards, Bruce Graham, Benjamin Lloyd, Megan McDermott, Jason Silverman, and Carl N. Wallnau.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre to Celebrate its 35th Season With a Black-Tie Gala, 6/21

Lowell, MA - Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) will be celebrating its 35th season with a black-tie gala onSaturday, June 21. Congresswoman Nicola Tsongas will present the Paul Tsongas Award to UMass Lowell Chancellor Marty Meehan in recognition of his long-time personal support and his continued work to build and expand MRT's partnership with UMass Lowell. The event will also feature the Reduced Shakespeare Company presenting 'The Complete History of MRT (abridged),' a 10-minute sketch created especially for this event.

Merrimack Repertory Theatre to Present Bruce Graham's STELLA AND LOU, 11/29-12/22

Merrimack Repertory Theatre (MRT) brings the romantic comedy Stella and Lou by Bruce Graham to Lowell November 29 - December 22, continuing the theater's 35th season. The play is directed by MRT Artistic Director Charles Towers and will be performed in the recently-renovated Nancy L. Donahue Theatre, located at 50 East Merrimack Street in historic downtown Lowell. Good Theater Announces Cast for 10th Edition of BROADWAY AT GOOD THEATER, Including Kenita Miller and Christopher Pecoraro, 12/5-8

Good Theater announces the stars and cast for its 10th edition of Broadway at Good Theater. Performances will be Thursday 12/5 at 7:00 ($25), Friday 12/6 at 7:30 ($25), Saturday 12/7 at 3:00 ($25) & 7:30 ($30) and Sunday 12/8 at 2:00 ($30). This year the company will host Kenita R. Miller and Christopher A. Pecoraro as the Broadway headliners for the five concerts playing December 5-8.

Gulfshore Playhouse Accepting Submissions for New Works Festival

Gulfshore Playhouse announces a call for submissions for their Second Annual New Works Festival to take place in late summer 2014. The New Works Festival will bring together four playwrights and a team of actors and directors for a week-long festival in which each playwright will hone their play and then present their work to an audience.

After a wildly successful extended run last spring, Urban Stages will remount their production of Greg Kalleres' biting comedy HONKY. A playwright choosing Alzheimer's as a topic would seem to have painted himself into a corner, and we expect that we're going to spend the evening watching Gunner get worse. But the action here takes place over just a couple of days, and Gunner has a plan of his own to solve the problems facing the family.
