The capacity crowd sat with anticipation among the authentic rustic, earthy timber slats, transporting us back in time to travel on an emotional and spiritual journey with these classic, beloved characters. Adapted from Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning bestseller and Steven Spielberg's Oscar-nominated film, this readapted stage musical has a fresh, joyous score of jazz, ragtime, gospel and blues. This stirring family chronicle follows the inspirational Celie, Brittney James-Crayton an African-American woman in the American South from the early to mid-20th century.

Southern Rep Theatre is pleased to announce the world premiere of SONG OF A MAN COMING THROUGH, which tells the true story of Earnest Knighton Jr., who turned his journey through death row at Angola into a transformative experience for himself and the community that gathered around him.

Southern Rep Theatre has announced details for its upcoming production of BOUDIN: The New Orleans Music Project. Southern Rep teamed up with WWOZ 90.7 FM and a volunteer Story Krewe to ask locals all over New Orleans to answer the question, 'How has New Orleans music saved your soul?' The stories they collected form the basis for this original musical production celebrating the people, the music, and the magic of New Orleans.

Mother Superior, once again played by Claire Conti, is hesistant to accept; however, after being convinced by the other sisters that 'what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas' she agrees. What follows is the most feather-filled, sequin-studded, fan dancing NUNSENSE show ever!
