HAMILTON director Thomas Kail recently took a trip to The Westside Theatre to see the new Off-Broadway play The Stone Witch. Check out the photo with the cast below!

Producers Darlene Kaplan, Laura Janik Cronin and Scott Newsome, in association with Alec Seymour, SPF Group and Susanne Adamski, announced today that The Stone Witch, a play by Shem Bitterman (A Death in Colombia, Influence) will end its run at The Westside Theatre - Upstairs (407 West 43rd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues) after the matinee performance on Sunday, April 29, 2018.  When it closes, it will have played 15 preview performances and 41 regular performances. Performances began Monday, March 12, 2018 for an open-ended engagement. Opening Night was Sunday evening, March 25, 2018.

PARTY FACE, the new comedy by Isobel Mahon ("Glenroe," "Fair City"), will play its final performance on April 8, 2018 at City Center Stage II ( 131 West 55th Street). PARTY FACE began previews on Thursday, January 11, 2018, and opened on Monday, January 22. At the time of closing, PARTY FACE will have played 14 previews and 88 regular performances.

Very rarely do you hear of new ways to invest in, or contribute to, the theater. Something surprised me recently however--on the website for the off-Broadway commercial production of THE STONE WITCH, you can make a tax deductible donation to the Berkshire Theatre Group (BTG) and have the money go to THE STONE WITCH. According to producers Laura Janik Cronin and Darlene Kaplan, the money goes not to increase BTG's share of the profits, but rather to keep the show afloat.

Producers Robert Driemeyer, Morgan Sills and Jan Warner announced today that director Amanda Bearse ("Married…With Children") will join the cast of PARTY FACE in the role of "Bernie" for the final week of performances, April 2- April 8, 2018. Original cast member Klea Blackhurst will play her final performance on April 1. Theater fans have only a few weeks left to catch the Off-Broadway sensation Spamilton, as producers announced today the show will play its final performance on January 7, 2018.

Last night, Tuesday, November 14, the cast and crew of the hit off-Broadway show Spamilton celebrated an impressive 500 performances since opening in July of 2016. Lautenberg, in association with NewYorkRep, announced today that Church & State, the critically acclaimed play by Jason Odell Williams, a 'BEST PLAY' nominee from the Off Broadway Alliance, will play its final performance Sunday, June 4 at 7:30 p.m. Directed by Markus Potter (Stalking the Bogeyman), Church & State is currently running at New World Stages (340 W. 50th Street - between 8th & 9th Avenues).  At the time of closing, Church & State will have played 29 previews and 81 regular performances.

Cagney, the hit musical about Hollywood's tough guy in tap shoes, will conclude its celebrated run at The Westside Theatre on Sunday, May 28, 2017. Cagney began performances at The Westside Theatre March 16, 2016, prior to an official opening on April 3, 2016. When Cagney takes its final curtain call at The Westside Theatre, the production will have played a total of 502 performances (including 21previews).
