Spinning Tree Theatre will conclude the 2019-20 season April 17 - May 3 with Broadway musical La Cage aux Folles. The 1983 musical, based on the 1973 French play of the same name by Jean Poiret, has music and lyrics by Jerry Herman and book by Harvey Fierstein. La Cage aux Folles won the 1984 Tony Award for Best Musical, and both Broadway revivals (2005 and 2010) won Tony Awards for Best Revival of a Musical.

Alt-pop band THE GRAHAMS have released the empowering title track off their upcoming third album KIDS LIKE US (set for release on March 27, 2020 via 3 Sirens Music Group/RED MUSIC/The Orchard). The band explains to Culture Collide (who premiered the track yesterday), “While the sounds and imagery of [Bruce] Springsteen and [Neil] Young emphasized breaking away from the constrictions of family, economy, society on the fringes of a dead-end town (like Springsteen, in our case it was the Jersey suburbs), “Kids Like Us” explores growing up and living in towns that are simultaneously confronting climate crisis and environmental damage, opioid epidemics, underemployment, and an entire country on the brink of madness. Acclaimed songwriter, singer, film & television composer and Shudder To Think frontman Craig Wedren has added another title to his already expanded resume: podcast creator. Today he releases the first episode of his Sabbath Sessions podcast -- a collection of musical meditations that he has been crafting since 2014. This new podcast represents his first explorations of ambient choral music, where Wedren developed his technique of sampling and looping his famously elastic voice resulting in a unique kind of sound bath. Sabbath Sessions was born out of the introspection of Wedren's longtime mindfulness and wellness practices, embracing everything from Transcendental Meditation to yoga. He sees the experimental, inclusive bent of Sabbath Sessions as uniting many different strands of his varied musical aptitudes. “Think of it as Smile-era Brian Wilson singing ambient Brian Eno—who is a huge influence--from Music for Airports to his fondness for feather boas; or shoegaze 'Bohemian Rhapsody,'” he notes. “My love of John Cage and Steve Reich is in there, too.”

The AMERICANA TOUR is a 40-city summer tour that will start in Austin, TX, on June 13th, immediately after Miller is inducted into the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in New York on June 11th.
